Gre. Siddhi Phala Hum Ah. Sons of the O clan and others should bathe the daughter with water. The empowerment of symbols is, showing the body of the five wisdoms. The O clan is the two, cause and effect, of samsara. Likewise, the truth of the path is the cause, and the cessation is the result, so these two are the two, cause and effect, of liberation. At the time of abandoning and adopting, one should know suffering, abandon the origin, attain cessation, and the path must rely on one's own continuum. The sixteen aspects of the four truths are: impermanence, suffering, emptiness, and selflessness are the four aspects of suffering. Cause is origin, condition, arising, and production are the four aspects of origin. Cessation, peace, excellence, and definitely issuing forth are the four aspects of the path truth. External objects appear coarse, such as mountains, fields, houses, etc., are coarse objects. The continuum of mind means that many moments of mind arise, and four are the aspects of cessation. The path is definitely cultivating wisdom. The coarse thoughts of attachment, aversion, etc., that continue are coarse thoughts. The basis of coarse appearance means that external coarse objects are not composed of many particles, and coarse thoughts are not composed of many moments, so particles and moments are called the basis. If those two, particles and moments, are believed to be truly established in ultimate truth, then one has not realized the selflessness of phenomena. Realizing that both "I" and "mine" are without inherent existence is realizing the selflessness of persons. Individual liberation has eight types, which means abandoning the five to be abandoned is a lay devotee, abandoning eight is a lay resident, abandoning ten is a novice, and abandoning all is a monk. Dividing each of these four into male and female, there are eight types of individual liberation. The five things to be abandoned by a lay devotee are killing, not giving, engaging in unchaste conduct, and lying, these four are the four root downfalls, and adding alcohol to these makes five. The eight of a lay resident are, in addition to these, dancing, garlands, a high and large bed, and three things to be abandoned: eating after noon. The ten of a novice are counting dancing etc. and garlands etc. separately from those eight, making nine. Adding taking gold and silver makes ten. A monk has two hundred and fifty-three vows. "Pride is the division of the realms" means meditating on the division of the eighteen realms. The afflictions of the three realms are to be abandoned by seeing.

It is like this, regarding the afflictions that cause beings to be born in the three realms, there is one category that needs to be abandoned during the path of seeing, which is called what is abandoned by seeing during the path of seeing. To abandon these afflictions, one needs to generate the sixteen wisdoms of the path of seeing, which are: the four knowledges of suffering-dharma, suffering-dharma-acceptance, suffering-subsequent-knowledge, and suffering-subsequent-acceptance; the four knowledges of origin-dharma, origin-dharma-acceptance, origin-subsequent-knowledge, and origin-subsequent-acceptance; the four knowledges of cessation-dharma, cessation-dharma-acceptance, cessation-subsequent-knowledge, and cessation-subsequent-acceptance; the four knowledges of path-dharma, path-dharma-acceptance, path-subsequent-knowledge, and path-subsequent-acceptance. In our own school's view, the so-called "manifest habit" refers to a state that can be perceived, such as when afflictions manifest and strong anger arises. The twelve external links are: seed, sprout, stem, sprout, stem, leaf, flower, fruit, these six are related to the cause; earth, water, fire, wind, space, time, these six are related to the condition. The twelve internal links are: ignorance, which is clinging to self and what belongs to self; action, which is accumulating virtuous and non-virtuous karma; consciousness, which is the transfer of consciousness from here to there; name and form, which are the four aggregates of feeling, etc., and the form aggregate; the six sense bases, which are eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind; contact, which is the aggregation of the three faculties between the external object and the internal consciousness; feeling, which is the experience of pleasure and pain arising from the encounter of these three; craving, which is the desire to obtain pleasure and the desire to be rid of suffering; grasping, which is accepting these; becoming, which is taking birth in the next life; birth, which is aging and dying after being born and before dying. According to this method, origination and cessation are: if there is ignorance, then there is action, etc., which is origination; if ignorance ceases, then action ceases, and the cause for certain birth is accomplished, which is "becoming." Thus, in the next life, etc., is cessation, and this is how it is explained in this treatise. The solitary realizer like a rhinoceros horn, as described by our own school, refers to living alone. Enjoying together in a group refers to many people living together. The solitary realizer like a rhinoceros horn accumulates merit for a hundred great eons on the path of accumulation, and then in the last life of their existence, they perfect the five paths on a single seat. Similarly, the great vehicle practitioners who practice in groups perfect the four paths on a single seat, and the small vehicle practitioners perfect the three paths.
