To make them happy with various jokes, jests, and idle talks, thereby guiding them towards virtue, It is said that there is no opportunity to give rise to the three unwholesome actions of the mind. Those three actions also become instructions for practicing for the benefit of others. Seeing sentient beings who are poor and destitute, and not having the means to give, and seeing wealthy and stingy people, with compassion, thinking, "If I could take the wealth of this stingy person by various means and give it to the poor," thereby developing covetousness for the wealth of others; towards those evil sentient beings who have become enemies of the Three Jewels, such as lamas and the Sangha, with compassion, to engage in manifest actions with intense thoughts of harming their body and life; towards those sentient beings who are devoted to and desire wrong views and practices, with compassion, for their sake, to temporarily show wrong views and practices, to bring them under one's control, and to show wrong views in order to guide them to right view, these ten actions will not constitute faults, but will instead increase much merit. The Twenty Vows state: "For those with compassion, there is no unwholesomeness." If that is the case, if that unwholesome act becomes a cause for dispute, or causes the Sangha to split, or causes many faithful sentient beings to lose faith and generate wrong views, or if one is a beginner, then one should not do it. There are four ways to examine the prosperity and decline of giving. The first is to examine the prosperity and decline of material giving. When seeing impoverished sentient beings, if one has material possessions to give, and giving does not harm oneself and benefits others, then one should give whatever material possessions one has to the impoverished, thereby preventing unwholesome thoughts and directing them towards virtue. If giving material possessions causes obstacles to one's body and life, and to the three practices of hearing, contemplation, and meditation, and if it is of little benefit to others, then one should not give. One can give a small amount of material possessions and explain with a smiling face and gentle words. Otherwise, one should turn away. If giving material possessions causes harm to oneself and benefit to others equally, or if there is no room to turn away, then one should distribute and give accordingly. Therefore, in the context of material giving, one should understand as follows: A Bodhisattva who is extremely

Due to having renounced the world, one should abandon all possessions and prioritize non-giving. A Bodhisattva who is a householder should prioritize giving. Furthermore, for those who have renounced the world, compared to being in solitude, they should not prioritize giving. Whatever they receive in their begging bowl while wandering in the city, they should share and enjoy it with the impoverished. Second, examining the flourishing and decline of the giving of one's body: If a Bodhisattva is asked for their body by an individual, it is not the time for giving. If they were to actually give their body, it would become the work of Mara, so they should not actually give their body. Through thought, one should give one's body to sentient beings in general and in particular. After attaining the Bodhisattva grounds, actually giving one's body will become of great benefit to sentient beings, so one should give. Give whatever is desired, such as limbs, flesh, and blood. In the future, through the power of aspiration, for the benefit of meat-eating sentient beings, the bodies of elephants and large fish, etc., have been repeatedly spoken of and accepted. If it is for the benefit of flesh and blood, then those who eat the flesh of a Bodhisattva will also become the cause of higher realms and liberation due to the power of aspiration. Third, examining the flourishing and decline of the giving of Dharma: It should not become an obstacle to the Bodhisattva's meditation, and for those who desire Dharma and are qualified, it should be explained as they wish. If it becomes an obstacle to one's own meditation, and the person who desires Dharma is not qualified, then it should not be explained. Even if it slightly harms one's own meditation, but if the person who desires Dharma is qualified, then it should be explained. Even if it does not become an obstacle to oneself, but for those who desire Dharma but have wrong views, are malicious, and are heretics who steal the Dharma, it should not be explained. If one does not know, but because the person who desires Dharma is greedy for gain and respect, one fabricates and deceives with false knowledge, the sutras say there are immeasurable faults, so one should not do this. If one knows, one should not abandon the Dharma due to stinginess and laziness, but should teach the Dharma. It is said in the sutras that among all gifts, the gift of Dharma is the most supreme. Fourth, examining the flourishing and decline of the giving of fearlessness: If a Bodhisattva has the ability to be a protector for sentient beings in danger, they should do it; if they do not have the ability, they should not do it. If they have the ability, but this matter will cause harm to themselves, they should not do it. Even if their ability is small,
