If the sun sinks in the western mountains, who will dispel the darkness of the world? Thus, twenty-three verses of lamentation were uttered. The teacher, the sixth lineage Samantabhadra himself, manifested as the Lord of Secrets, Vajrapani. He intended to repeat what he had previously spoken in Akanishta. As it is said: The mandala of the mind is like a mirror. I, too, declare the teachings in this way, without beginning or end. I will not abandon my vows. In the center of the retinue of the five lineages and the multitude of vidyadharas, he manifested as the body of the Lord of Secrets, Vajrapani. He taught the secret vehicle, which was previously renowned in Akanishta, Tushita, and the abodes of the Thirty-Three. These were written by the Rakshasa, the wise and skillful one, on golden tablets with molten metal, and hidden in the sky by the seven powers of intention. At that time, through its blessings, King Zha of Sahora had seven wondrous dream signs, as it is said: Body, speech, and mind symbols merged, precious tablets descended, Dharma practice was performed, all proclaimed it sacred, great offerings were made, jewels rained down, and the Buddha prophesied on earth. In accordance with these dream signs, the tantric scriptures actually descended into the human realm. The Kriya Tantras descended in Varanasi. The Upa Tantras descended on Vulture Peak Mountain and the Cool Grove. The Yoga Tantras descended on the summit of a burning cremation ground. The Maha Yoga Tantras rained down as eighteen great tantras on the palace of the great King Zha in Sahora. The Anu Yoga Tantras descended with the scriptures on the island of Simhala. The Ati Yoga Tantras were directly heard by the great master Garab Dorje from Vajrasattva himself in the land of Oddiyana in the west, and he recorded them on tablets.
