Unwavering, unfearing, subduing the splendor of samsara and nirvana, Unwaveringly gazing upon the realm of Dharma. In a solitary place, one is a lion among humans, With a roar that devours the deer of discursive thoughts, Consuming the brains of inferior vehicle foxes, A great symbol with manifestly flourishing turquoise mane, How could it be fitting to wander in a distracted city? The demeanor of reveling in the power of the expanse-appearance wisdom, Possessing the arrogance of spontaneously accomplished appearances, The power of the two-drinker, contracting the limbs of grasping and the grasped, In a solitary place, one rejoices in accurate realization. The resonance of the self-born lamp of wisdom and awareness, Upon the rainbow of self-appearing perfect enjoyment, Possessing a way of looking that enjoys with a sidelong glance, One rejoices in that solitary place, devoid of discursive proliferation. The solitary body ablaze with the warmth of bliss and wisdom, The solitary speech beyond expression, the power of the perfected sage, Rejoicing in the solitude of the six-lamp mind, Is this not playing the game of the four visions? The key to dispelling the downward flow of impure imprints, Taking to heart the compassionate gaze in a subtle way, Possessing the eyes of an emanation body with clairvoyance, In a solitary place, like a sage among the gods. The supreme Thubpa (Buddha) and the sons of Thubpa, And those who have attained accomplishment, well served, From the delightful garden of the gods in solitude, Who would not be delighted in this abode of the gods? If one dwells in this place, one becomes disillusioned with desire, Not weary of samsara, possessing peaceful contemplation, Uniting the two benefits by the power of aspiration. The abyss of samsara, with a mind that benefits beings, In the realm of liberation, the wisdom that pacifies proliferation, In the nature of wisdom, the flaws of self-appearing existence and peace, When it self-destructs, it is said that samsara is emptied. The unobstructed awareness, unreachable by the mind, This nature of Dharmakaya has always existed, Without fabrication or alteration, abiding in its own nature, It is the primordial ground, the self-luminous nature. The vast, unobstructed expanse of the Vajra essence, In the realm of equality, there is no view, meditation, or action, The efforts of the paths and grounds are merely children's games. Upon the self-abiding awareness, Vajrasattva, If one fabricates, one falls into the path of delusion. The solitary place of the play of awareness-wisdom, Is the supreme essence of all solitary places, In this solitary place, the auspicious aeon rejoices, Even dwelling in the city, one practices extreme solitude. Entrusting hope.

When bound by the demon of delusion, The unerring mind itself is cast into the abyss of confusion. When abiding without reliance, without grasping, Then samsara and nirvana are self-liberated in the expanse of the Dharmakaya. The meditation practiced with various methods, Because it is conditioned, is surely deceived by circumstances. The effortless, self-abiding intention of the Dharmakaya, In the unconditioned expanse, adverse conditions arise as friends. The deliberate grasping of "This is!" is a chain of bondage, The certainty of "It is!" is the cause of delusion. The effortful action of "I have accomplished!" is the mind of a child, If all is completely abandoned, that is the nature of reality. The great emptiness that transcends emptiness and non-emptiness, Not seeing and not not-seeing, is the key point of view. When the bondage of meditating and not meditating is severed, However one acts, it is merely a play of illusion. Gradual and non-gradual, are names of vehicles, True and untrue, are all the desires of philosophical tenets. Like arguing about good and bad in a city of gandharvas, If one realizes non-reliance, it dissolves like a magical knot. The unobstructed awareness, the uninterrupted expanse of equality. Though the play of awareness, thoughts move like waves, Yet when grasping loses its life, like a corpse's illusion, The yogi, endowed with such, will act as he pleases. With the nature of reality as the basis, awareness in its own place, The instructions for meditation are all contained therein. With the play of awareness as the foundation, the nature of reality as the play, The instructions for conduct lie in freely controlling appearances. The towering cliff of attachment and aversion, And this dense forest of deluded thoughts, Are the garuda king of self-liberated conduct, And the place where awareness-emptiness deer frolic. If the certainty of "This is it!" is not exhausted, Then however one meditates, it is a path of delusion. When one sees everything and loses all reliance, Then how will one ever find the path to traverse? However one acts, that is the path of liberation, However one meditates, it is the expanse of the primordial Dharmakaya. The games of children, good and bad, have the same essential meaning, If there is no deliberate grasping, then bliss is continuous. All conditioned dharmas are momentary, What benefit or harm do momentary appearances have on the mind? Good and bad are like ripples on water, there is no gain or loss in the water, If there is no desire, then the eight worldly concerns naturally collapse. With the thought of "This is it!" what do you seek in your own nature? With the thought of "It is!" what do you accomplish in the self-abiding Dharmakaya? Who knows that effortful practice is bondage? Various doc
