Without using the method of severance, with the wrath of forbearance, he defeated the battlefield of the evil deeds of the demons. Stating the distinction of lacking substance: The Victorious One's good speech, the talk of the Perfection of Wisdom, if the mind firmly abides in the forbearance of the tamed, even if one abandons the strong armor and sharp weapons, one will surely avoid being trampled by the enemy. Stating the distinction of lacking cause: Having abandoned the kingdom, dwelling alone, not seeking enjoyment and wealth, not possessing glory and splendor. That one who has accomplished all meaning with a body of asceticism, is worthy of worship by gods and humans in the world. Analogy of praise: The radiance of the sun's orb and the essence of the crescent moon, the lamp of jewels and the body of the great Brahma, cannot compare to the youthfulness of your (Shakyamuni's) body. Only the illuminator of the world is worth discussing in the world. Analogy of the doctor: The lord of the Paranirmitavasavartin gods and his retinue, the six misguided teachers and Ajatashatru, Devadatta and Jivaka who held wrong views, these arrogant ones, although they opposed Shakyamuni, were ultimately defeated. Contradictory opposition, the first being that the entities are different and the actions are opposite: Shakyamuni's good speech opened the door to the Dharma, enabling fortunate beings such as gods to obtain the supreme right path, to obtain great joy and glory, while the bodiless ones (demons) and their armies, having lost their perfection, with regret, feel sorrow. Same entity, opposite actions: Shakyamuni's good speech is the treasure of Dharma and discipline, whoever sees these will strive on the path of liberation, increasing great joy and merit, while the guilty will not feel joy in the good speech. Multiple attributes of the same entity are opposite: Shakyamuni's good speech is a strict discipline, which can loosen bonds and afflictions, with few faults and many merits, it can increase liberation and decrease afflictions. Substance and action are opposite: Shakyamuni's good speech, being peaceful, cool, and pleasing to the ear, confuses the misguided teachers, the light of wisdom shines, the evil forces of the demons, suffer like merchants being stung. Action is opposite: When Shakyamuni speaks the Dharma, even if one has not heard it, it is difficult to endure without being soothed, the flames of hell also temporarily subside, existing as nectar.
