Remembering the vows of the initial aspiration, from emptiness, from the syllable 'ཡཾ་' (Tibetan, yaṃ, wind) arises the wind mandala, blue in color, shaped like a bow, marked with a victory banner. Above that, from the syllable 'རཾ་' (Tibetan, raṃ, fire) arises the fire mandala, red, triangular, adorned with a garland of burning flames, and ornamented with vajra decorations. Above that, from the syllable 'བཾ་' (Tibetan, vaṃ, water) arises the water mandala, white, circular, adorned with vases. Above that, from the syllable 'ལཾ་' (Tibetan, laṃ, earth) arises the earth mandala, yellow, square, marked with vajras. Above that, from the syllable 'ཧཱུཾ་' (Tibetan, hūṃ, seed syllable) arises a multicolored vajra, marked with 'ཧཱུཾ་' (Tibetan, hūṃ, seed syllable) at its center, radiating light downwards, forming a vajra ground; radiating outwards, forming a vajra fence; radiating upwards, forming a vajra canopy. Below that, above the fence, are vajra banners. All of this is of the nature of blazing vajras, without interruption, becoming one. Outside of that, like the fire of the end of an eon, five-colored flames radiate in the ten directions. In the center of the fence, from the syllable 'བྷྲུཾ་' (Tibetan, bhrūṃ, seed syllable) arises a yellow, blazing wheel of Dharma, turning clockwise, with ten spokes including the hub. In the center of the hub, and in the places slightly not touching the spokes, visualize three seats each of multicolored lotuses, moons, and suns. Above the central seat, from the complete transformation of the syllable 'ཧཱུཾ་' (Tibetan, hūṃ, seed syllable), oneself becomes the Wrathful King (Gnod mdzés rgyal po), blue in color, wearing the crown of Akshobhya, with three faces of blue, white, and red, and six arms. The first two arms embrace the self-arisen consort, the remaining two right hands hold a jewel and a hook, and the two left hands hold a lotus and a noose. Seated with the right leg bent and the left leg extended. Visualize that the 'ཧཱུཾ་' (Tibetan, hūṃ, seed syllable) at the heart of the embracing parents radiates light, inviting the ten wrathful deities, who enter into oneself and dissolve, melting through the vajra path into the lotus of the consort, becoming ten bindus, and from those ten bindus arise ten 'ཧཱུཾ་' (Tibetan, hūṃ, seed syllable) syllables, and from those 'ཧཱུཾ་' (Tibetan, hūṃ, seed syllable) syllables arise the ten wrathful deities, namely Yamantaka (Gshin rje gshed), blue in color, with three faces of blue, white, and red, and six arms, the lowest right hand holding a vajra hammer. Uttering 'ཧཱུཾ་' (Tibetan, hūṃ, seed syllable), he arises from the lotus and sits on the seat above the eastern spoke with his left leg extended. Establish in this way. Similarly, Invincible (Gzhan gyis mi thub pa), white in color, with three faces of white, blue, and red, and six arms, the lowest right hand holding a club, is in the south. Hayagriva (Rta mgrin), red in color, with three faces of red, blue, and white, and six arms, the lowest right hand holding a lotus, and the middle left hand holding a wheel, is in the west. Nectar Stream (Bdud rtsi 'khyil pa), blue in color, with three faces of blue, white, and red, and six arms, the lowest right hand holding a vajra, is in the north. Desire King ('Dod rgyal), dark blue in color, with three faces of blue, white, and red, and six arms, the lowest right hand holding a hook. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Holder of the Earth (ས་ཀྱུ་འཛིན་པ་, Sakyu Dzinpa, literally: Earth Holder) is like fire, and the One with the Blue Staff (དབྱུག་སྔོན་ཅན་, Yuk Ngönchen, literally: Blue Staff Holder) has three faces—blue, white, and red—and six arms. The furthest right hand holds a staff, symbolizing emptiness (བདེན་བྲལ་, Denbral). The Mighty One (སྟོབས་པོ་ཆེ་, Toboche, literally: Great Power One) has three faces—blue, white, and red—and six arms. The furthest right hand holds a trident, symbolizing wind. Achala (མི་གཡོ་བ་, Miyowa) has three faces—blue, white, and red—and six arms. The furthest right hand holds a sword, and the furthest left hand holds a vajra (རྡོ་རྗེ་, Dorje). He sits in a posture of left extension on a lotus seat on the spokes of the Lord of Power (དབང་ལྡན་, Wangden). The Crown Wheel-Turner (གཙུག་ཏོར་འཁོར་ལོས་སྒྱུར་བ་, Tsuktor Khorlö Gyurwa) has three faces—yellow-green, yellow-green-white, and red—and six arms. The furthest right hand holds a wheel. He is located slightly in front of the main deity. Vajra Earth-Underneath (རྡོ་རྗེ་ས་འོག་, Dorje Sa-og) has three faces—blue, blue-white, and red—and six arms. The furthest right hand holds a vajra. He is located slightly behind the main deity on a lotus seat, sitting in a posture of left extension. All ten wrathful deities' first two arms embrace their respective consorts, all the middle right arms hold jewels, all the middle left arms except for Hayagriva (རྟ་མགྲིན་, Tamdrin) hold lotuses, and all the furthest left arms except for Achala hold swords. All eleven wrathful deities grit their teeth, each face has three red, round eyes, the hair and beard are reddish-yellow, blazing, and swirling upwards. They are adorned with wheels and earrings, and have various snake ornaments. Except for Yamantaka (གཤིན་རྗེ་གཤེད་, Shinje Shed) and Hayagriva, who have the crests of Vairochana (རྣམ་སྣང་, Namnang) and Amitabha (འོད་དཔག་མེད་, Ödpakmed) respectively, the other eight have the crest of Achala. They have the power to completely eradicate all demons and obstacles, reside in the midst of flames born from their bodies, and one should contemplate that terrifying vajra flames emanate from them, gathering like clouds, radiating in the ten directions, thereby destroying all malicious beings. In the Lalita Sutra (ལ་ལི་ཏའི་གཞུང་, Lalita'i Zhung), there are no mantras for the ten wrathful deities. If one wishes to recite them, one can recite the mantras that appear in other scriptures. Here, some versions of the Lalita Sutra say that the first right hands of the ten wrathful deities hold ten objects such as vajras and hammers, and the first left hands hold swords. Therefore, some arbitrarily explain that they hold vajras, which is incorrect. If that were the case, then the scripture should explain what the last two right and left hands of the ten wrathful deities do. Therefore, in scriptures such as the Beneficial Ornament Sutra, it is said that the first two right and left hands of the wrathful deities embrace their consorts, and it is not stated what implements the first two hands of the Beneficial Ornament hold, except for the remaining four hands. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
