Collected Teachings of Je Tsongkhapa JTs48, containing the commentary on the Guhyasamaja Tantra of Gyalwa Kyen and Shantipa, and the draft of the mandala ritual of the magical illusion of the Vinaya. Collected Teachings of Je Tsongkhapa JTs48, containing the commentary on the Guhyasamaja Tantra of Gyalwa Kyen and Shantipa, and the draft of the mandala ritual of the magical illusion of the Vinaya. Commentary on the First Chapter of the Guhyasamaja Tantra by Gyalwa Kyen: Therefore, all those who wish to strive for enlightenment should transform into the nature of the Bhagavan (Bhagavan, Blessed One), the nature of Vajradhara (Vajradhara, Holder of the Vajra), by generating the nature of great bliss, which is the essence of skillful means and wisdom. As it is said in the 'Eighteen Chapters': 'The nature of all glorious Buddhas is the position of the great Vajradhara; the origin of all Buddhas' skillful means is the Dharmata of all dharmas.' It is also said in the Vajrasekhara Sutra: 'Whatever is the wisdom of all Buddhas, whatever is revealed by the Bodhicitta, this is the king of Vajradharas, and its suchness is immutable.' Therefore, through the method of the Paramitas (Paramita, Perfections), gradually accomplishing enlightenment, one should know that this enters into the practice of the nature of Vajradhara. In the Kriya and Charya Tantras, it is also said: One should practice bliss, and it is explained in detail for the purpose of attaining siddhis (Siddhi, Accomplishments) such as vidyadhara. However, these are produced from fabrication, so they do not last long. Just as the mind, corrupted by attachment to external objects, attains bliss by perfecting siddhis through the power of deities such as the body. The distinction of the Yoga Tantra lies in: Those yogis first perform the yoga of self-generation of the deity, and then contemplate images, etc., to practice the attainment of requested siddhis. As it is said in the 'Glorious Supreme First Tantra': 'Draw the Bhagavan (Bhagavan, Blessed One) Vajrapani on cloth in a proud posture, and in front of it, abide in the Mahamudra (Mahamudra, Great Seal), recite one hundred thousand times, and on the full moon day, through one hundred thousand recitations, one will attain the state of Vajrasattva (Vajrasattva, Diamond Mind).' etc. In the Yoga Tantra, one also wishes to practice supreme bliss, however, its main content is not directly explained here. In the Glorious Guhyasamaja Tantra, what can be accomplished is the non-duality of skillful means and wisdom. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the instructions of Yoga, for the sake of the supreme being, for the perfection of the stainless nature of the great Vajradhara, this is the supreme teaching on the principal of the uncommon cause. If asked, 'How can one follow and practice this?' It should be said that for those who dwell in their own realm and are skilled in enjoyment, there are no restrictions on acting as they wish. Just as enjoying poison after being well-trained through mantras and the like, it produces beneficial results. As it is said in the seventh chapter: 'Austerities and vows, if practiced by the unkind, will not lead to accomplishment. Relying on the enjoyment of all desires, one will quickly attain accomplishment.' In the ninth chapter of 'The Garland of Hand Gestures': 'The ultimate truth is threefold: suchness is the ultimate truth. The ultimate truth of practice is genuine wisdom. The ultimate truth to be attained is nirvana.' As stated in the 'Distinguishing the Middle from the Extremes': 'Examination, knowledge, and expression are coarse.' And 'Meaning, attainment, and practice are considered the three aspects of the ultimate truth.' Therefore, this Vajra commitment and all other mantras are the conventional truth of speech, as they each possess the nature of distinct reality. Discrimination of reality is neither discrimination nor non-discrimination. If asked, 'Why is it not discrimination?' Because it is in accordance with the arising of non-discrimination. If asked, 'Why is it not non-discrimination?' Because of the discrimination of reality. Non-discrimination itself cannot give rise to non-discrimination, as children do not possess this ability. Nor can it arise from mundane discrimination, as it is its antidote. However, by placing the mind evenly on reality itself, those discriminations that follow, through meditation, without effort, the mind will be placed evenly in the unelaborated realm of Dharma. This unelaborated state is called non-discriminating wisdom. As it is said in the 'Dharani of Entering Non-Discrimination': 'Through association with the correct application, it follows. Through meditation, it follows. Through increase, it follows. Through correct attention, it follows.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
