Collected Teachings of Je Tsongkhapa JTs45, The Four Stages of Yoga from the Collected Works of the Great Venerable Tsongkhapa The Four Stages of Yoga from the Collected Works of the Great Venerable Tsongkhapa The Four Stages of Yoga from the Collected Works of the Great Venerable Tsongkhapa Namo Vajra Bhairavaya. Possessing the power of the wheel-turning of the accomplished ones, the reality of the four yogas of the great accomplished glorious holder, explains the four types of yoga. Namely: 'Form, mantra, samaya, and, pure wisdom,' liberate from the bonds of existence. Thus it is said. First, from: 'In sequence or in any way, meditate on the remembrance of the Buddha, abide in a sphere, I abide therein, this body is Yama, not a corpse, not true nor false, not ordinary but a wisdom body, clear and bright without impurity, complete with all qualities, this is not different from myself, without any addition or subtraction, not mistaken, by the grace of the guru, primordially accomplished, whether beings see, hear, or remember, fulfilling all wishes, the union body.' And, 'With illusion-like samadhi, like a dream, make it habitual, connecting the intermediate state, attain the accomplishment of the Sugata, the yoga of the form stage.' Second, from: 'Becoming the teacher of all beings, called wind, performing all actions, this is the riding of consciousness, attaining existence and liberation.' And, 'Purify with the pure union, summon with the summoning union, with peace, be peaceful, with the firm union, be immovable.' And, 'Like mirages, smoke, and the like, in an instant they arise.' And, 'The moving of the wind is samsara, the immovable is nirvana, in the center of the heart lotus is the seed, attain the non-abiding nirvana, the yogi abides therein, inside there is no sound of crows, the place of entering, the wind that arises, count one thousand, the practitioner is silent, complete with one hundred thousand, even if life is exhausted, one can live for five years, there is no doubt about this, from the white Hum (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) syllable in the heart, not distinguishing by objects etc., practicing the union of wind, one will attain the five superknowledges.' Here, the upward transference of consciousness, when death approaches. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

‘Sow the seeds everywhere, and attract the letters with consciousness.’ etc., are extensively explained in the Samputa, exactly as the Buddha said. Thirdly: In the Mudra of Wisdom and Means, it says: ‘With the oral instructions of the Guru, those who wish to alleviate the suffering of samsara should meditate on unchanging bliss.’ The characteristics of a Yogini are described as four types: Tsarika is of the Lotus lineage, Pamo is of the Elephant lineage, Dorje Yangchen is of the Conch lineage, and Gori is of the Striped lineage. The wise should understand the characteristics of these four lineages. The characteristics of the Lotus lineage are: a round face, a nose like a cuckoo flower, a back like a turtle, red nails, firm and soft breasts, flat soles, a beautiful chest, curly body hair, a clear voice, three wrinkles, the best of water-born beings, with the fragrance of lotus, walking like an elephant, soft to the touch like lotus petals, and acting with the grace of a lotus, one can attain the Siddhi of the Lotus lineage. The characteristics of the Elephant lineage are: a nose that curls to the left and right, intoxicated by desire, craving for passion, with the scent of alcohol, plump buttocks, a stout and untamed body, a loud laugh, fond of singing and dancing, and through the practice of binding, one can accomplish the excellence of the Elephant lineage. The characteristics of the Conch lineage are: neither too thin nor too fat, long hair, a slightly long nose, intestines like pomegranate seeds, fond of yogurt and milk, a voice like a crow, skin as rough as a cow's tongue, bound by Ghahariti. The characteristics of the Striped lineage are: very angry, abandoning shame, always fond of arguing, a short body, but a beautiful chest, breasts sunken like rice grains, slender buttocks, weak hands and feet, a large belly, drooping lips, with the scent of meat, a voice like a pigeon, this is the Striped lineage. Through the binding of Vilatha, one can attain the Siddhi of the Striped lineage. A sixteen-year-old girl is the embodiment of auspiciousness, with a beautiful appearance and abundant youth. First, she must study well, and only after receiving initiation can she practice. Place the body, speech, mind, and Vajra on the forehead, etc. ‘ སྭཱ་ཧཱ། (Tibetan, Devanagari: स्वाहा, Romanized Sanskrit: svāhā, Literal Chinese meaning: well said)’ secretly on the crown of the head. Then combine the Lotus and Vajra, visualize the letter ཨཿ (Tibetan, Devanagari: , Romanized Sanskrit: āḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: ) in the stamen, visualize the five-pronged Vajra with the letter ཧཱུྃ (Tibetan, Devanagari: हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum), generate the jewel from the letter ཨོཾ (Tibetan, Devanagari: , Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om), and visualize the gate with the letter ཕཊ (Tibetan, Devanagari: फट, Romanized Sanskrit: phaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: Phat). Thus, combining the Vajra and Lotus, place the lingam in the bhaga, and do not emit Bodhicitta. The yogi should recite ཧཱུྃ (Tibetan, Devanagari: हूँ, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Hum) and ཕཊ (Tibetan, Devanagari: फट, Romanized Sanskrit: phaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: Phat). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
