In Sanskrit: Āryadaśadikāndhakāravidhānasānanāmāmahāyānasūtra. In Tibetan: The Noble Great Vehicle Sutra Called Eliminating the Darkness of the Ten Directions. Homage to all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas! Thus have I heard: At one time, the Blessed One was dwelling among the Shakyas, in the Nyagrodha Grove in Kapilavastu, together with a great Sangha of monks, consisting of one thousand two hundred and fifty monks, and a great retinue of Bodhisattvas, including Manjushri. Then, the Blessed One, in the early morning, having put on his lower garment, and taking his bowl and robes, surrounded by the Sangha of monks, and led by the Sangha of monks, went to the great city of Kapilavastu for alms. At that time, a Shakya youth named Lightly Shining, having mounted a chariot for some business, was coming out of the great city of Kapilavastu. 或者人，或者非人，以及属于畜生之处的某些众生，都不加以损害，请您这样好好地守护我。也请您讲说守护的仪轨。如是祈请后，世尊对如释迦童子般极明亮的（某人）这样说道：童子，为此好好地听，牢记在心，我将为你讲述。世尊，如是遵从，如释迦童子般极明亮的（某人）听从世尊，世尊对他这样说道：童子，从这东方，经过八万个佛土，有一个名为“动摇一切烦恼”的世界。在那里，如来、应供、正等觉，名为“随行”的佛陀现在安住、生活。童子，你何时为了某些事情前往东方，那时你应向那位如来顶礼，忆念并面向他，以心流显现他，这样前往，你不会产生恐惧。那时不散乱地忆念他，你为了何事而去的事情就会成就。然后，世尊在那时说了偈颂：圆满正觉大雄力，至尊之前敬顶礼，恒常显现彼佛陀，若去汝将无所惧。童子，从这南方，经过九万个佛土，有一个名为“摧毁黑暗与黑暗之聚”的世界。在那里，如来、应供、正等觉，名为“发起最初之心，忆念所作，远离怯懦与羞涩，显胜之王”的佛陀现在安住、生活。童子，你何时为了某些事情前往南方，那时你应向那位如来顶礼，忆念并面向他，以心流显现他，远离忆念家庭等。

Or human, or non-human, and some beings belonging to the animal realm, do not harm them, please protect me well in this way. Please also explain the ritual of protection. After such a request, the Blessed One said to (someone) as bright as Shakya youth: Boy, listen well to this, keep it in mind, and I will tell you. Blessed One, I will obey, (someone) as bright as Shakya youth listened to the Blessed One, and the Blessed One said to him: Boy, from this eastern direction, after passing eighty thousand Buddha lands, there is a world called "Moving All Afflictions." There, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyak-sambuddha, named "Following" Buddha now dwells and lives. Boy, when you go to the east for some business, then you should prostrate to that Tathagata, remember and face him, manifest him with the stream of your mind, and if you go, you will not be afraid. If you remember him without distraction at that time, the thing you go for will be accomplished. Then, the Blessed One then spoke the verses: Perfect Buddha, great hero, I prostrate to the Lord, Always manifest that Buddha, If you go, you will have no fear. Boy, from this southern direction, after passing ninety thousand Buddha lands, there is a world called "Destroying Darkness and the Gathering of Darkness." There, the Tathagata, Arhat, Samyak-sambuddha, named "Generating the First Mind, Remembering What Was Done, Being Free from Timidity and Shyness, Manifestly Victorious King" Buddha now dwells and lives. Boy, when you go to the south for some business, then you should prostrate to that Tathagata, remember and face him, manifest him with the stream of your mind, and be free from remembering family and so on.

以不散乱的作意前往，你为了何事而去的事情就能成就，并且你不会从任何地方产生恐惧。然后，世尊在那时说了这段偈颂：舍弃家室的念想，以及一切生起，前往南方时，你不会产生恐惧。 青年，在西方，从这个佛土越过如恒河沙数般的佛土后，有一个名为“国土”的世界。在那里，如来、应供、正等觉，名为“降伏嗔恚与骄慢者”，现在安住、生活。 青年，你何时为了某些事情前往西方时，那时你应向那位如来顶礼，忆念并观想他于面前，以心流显现他，以无漏不散乱，忆念前往，你就不会从任何地方产生恐惧。然后，世尊在那时说了这段偈颂： 某些法未曾生起，某些法也不会灭尽，谁能如此了解诸法，那人便没有任何恐惧。 青年，在北方，从这个佛土越过千百万佛土后，有一个名为“具骄者”的世界。在那里，如来、应供、正等觉，名为“宝形光辉”，现在安住、生活。 青年，你何时为了某些事情前往北方时，那时你应向那位如来顶礼，忆念并观想他于面前，以心流显现他，以不散乱的作意前往，你为了何事而去的事情就能成就，并且你不会从任何地方产生恐惧。然后，世尊在那时说了这段偈颂： 恒常对一切有情，生起平等之心，不要轻蔑那些有情。

If you go with an undistracted mind, the task for which you go will be accomplished, and you will not experience fear from any direction. Then, at that time, the Blessed One spoke this verse: Abandoning thoughts of home, and all arising, when going to the south, you will not experience fear. Young man, to the west, beyond as many Buddha-fields as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River from this Buddha-field, there is a world called "Land." There, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One, named "Subduer of Anger and Pride," now dwells and lives. Young man, whenever you go to the west for some purpose, at that time you should prostrate to that Tathagata, remember and visualize him in front of you, manifest him with the stream of your mind, and go with undefiled non-distraction and mindfulness, and you will not experience fear from any direction. Then, at that time, the Blessed One spoke this verse: Some dharmas have not arisen, and some will not cease, whoever knows the dharmas in this way, that person has no fear. Young man, to the north, beyond a hundred million Buddha-fields from this Buddha-field, there is a world called "Possessor of Pride." There, the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened One, named "Jewel Form Splendor Light," now dwells and lives. Young man, whenever you go to the north for some purpose, at that time you should prostrate to that Tathagata, remember and visualize him in front of you, manifest him with the stream of your mind, and go with an undistracted mind, the task for which you go will be accomplished, and you will not experience fear from any direction. Then, at that time, the Blessed One spoke this verse: Always towards all sentient beings, generate a mind of equanimity, do not despise those sentient beings.
