Ah! Therefore, it is called Samadhi. Thus it is said. If one attains the self-ground of Samadhi, one cannot mix the wisdom of experience with subsequent attainment. The ultimate result of such habituation is that one gains mastery over Samadhi, and although the conceptual thoughts of subsequent attainment and awareness surge like ocean waves, they are like a dead snake devoid of the life force of grasping and being grasped. Although they appear as conceptual thoughts, they are merely semblances of conceptualization. Like the water of a mirage, realizing them to be unreal, the second way of liberation is that conceptual thoughts liberate themselves, like the knots of a snake unraveling on their own. This is the same as that meaning. Third, through habituation, do not let the wisdom of memory appearance be distracted. The meaning of this is that if Samadhi and subsequent attainment are considered to be of the same essence, then when one single-pointedly abides in the realm of Dharma-nature, all the gross movements of mind and mental factors dissolve into the realm of Dharma-nature and abide in non-conceptualization, which is Samadhi. At that time, the aspect of clarity where awareness is not obstructed and there is no grasping onto all appearances is subsequent attainment. Therefore, Samadhi and subsequent attainment are inseparable, and this gradually abandons the conceptualizations of grasping and being grasped. Here, among the two, grasping and being grasped, and the conceptualizations of grasping and being grasped, the first is that when an object appears in the mind, it is not bound by mere appearance. Because attachment to it arises, it appears as real in the mind, even though it does not exist in the nature of the object, this is being grasped. The arising of attachment to it is called grasping conceptualization. Therefore, abandoning the conceptualizations of grasping and being grasped is also abandoning grasping and being grasped. Thus, Samadhi and subsequent attainment are inseparable, or the union of quiescence and insight, the wisdom of superior seeing that arises from great habituation, no matter what good or bad conceptual thoughts arise, one realizes them to be unborn, and abides in one's own ground without moving from the state of true awareness. Like the clear radiance or ability of sense consciousness, like a mirror cleansed of dirt, the aspect of clarity in which objects such as form appear, is manifested as the merit of the unceasing function of the senses. However, at the very moment of appearance, one's own essence is emptiness and non-existence, merely a clear appearance. No matter how the manifestation of ability moves, one understands that appearance has no basis. One understands that awareness has no object. One understands that cognizance has no support. One understands that play is Dharma-nature. Therefore, in the Dharma language of the Paramita Vehicle, it is said that from the state of emptiness, the appearance of dependent arising manifests without obstruction, which is the same as this meaning.

Furthermore, regarding the appearance of phenomena, if one is not attached to it with the mind of grasping, and does not grasp anything, then mere appearance will not bind. If the binding factors are the two, grasper and grasped, then there is no relationship of object and subject between the object of grasping and the mind of grasping. Not only does one not speculate about the appearance of objects such as form, but one also does not intentionally look at the state of reality. One does not hold onto the mind regarding the understood objects such as non-existence, selflessness, emptiness, etc., but each one maintains the natural state of memory in a non-conceptual state of self-awareness wisdom, so that the impurities of the inner and outer elements will be purified by themselves. As it is said in the Prasangika: "Having purified existence and non-existence, and purified the attachment to the objects of the five senses, and purified the grossness of the elements, it shows the increasing appearance of pure wisdom. That is the nature of exhaustion." Like that, when one is accustomed to such a natural path, in the end, the memory of subsequent appearances is only appearance, so from the mere appearance itself, it merges inseparably with the self-appearance of wisdom, and thus goes to self-liberation. As it is said in the 'Essence of Liberation': Even if some appearances and thoughts arise, they cannot stay and dissolve by themselves, and even if they appear for a moment, they are neither beneficial nor harmful to the mind. Therefore, it is said that this third way of liberation is the ultimate goal of practice, and thoughts are liberated without benefit or harm, just like a thief entering an empty house. Fourth, when merging into the expanse, there is no distraction and no distractor. That is, to realize without error the meaning of the nature of all phenomena, which is the mind itself, free from elaboration and naturally luminous. The yogis of the Great Perfection of Naturalness, through the skillful means of profound instructions, make the knower and the known become one taste, so that stainless wisdom manifests, which is the complete realization of the nature of reality. From the uninterrupted energy of self-arising, great compassion naturally arises, and even if one does not intentionally strive for all aspects of skillful means such as generosity, they will naturally merge into the perfection of wisdom's own power. Without such ultimate wisdom, even if one determines the meaning of phenomena and reality through wisdom that includes conceptual thought, one cannot reach the profound state.
