Essential Instructions on the Oral Transmission of Jya Trang Rinpoche. Essential Instructions on the Oral Transmission of Jya Trang Rinpoche. Essential Instructions on the Oral Transmission of Jya Trang Rinpoche. Homage to the Guru and Manjushri. The four key points of turning the mind to Dharma, the key point of turning Dharma into the path, the key point of destroying delusion by the path, the key point of transforming deluded appearances into wisdom, it is said that these are all contained in the complete text. First, the four key points of turning the mind to Dharma are: the difficulty of obtaining a leisure and endowed human body, therefore one must turn the mind away from pursuing the affairs of this life, this is the first. Even if one obtains a body that is difficult to obtain, it is easy to perish, therefore one must turn the mind away from the belief that one will not die, etc., which is the second. After death, one does not go to nothing, but follows the results of karma, therefore one must turn the mind away from sin and non-virtue, this is the third. No matter where one is born in samsara, high or low, it is the nature of suffering, therefore one must also turn the mind away from wanting to attain higher realms, this is the fourth. It is said that it is very difficult to turn the mind away from wanting to attain higher realms, like the story of the wheel-turning king's spokes. That is, there are four objects of turning the mind away, there are four minds that turn the mind away, and there are four ways of how to turn the mind away. After recognizing the view of rig-stong (awareness and emptiness) without error, when abiding in that state, because one must abandon all worldly affairs of this life and meditate on the meaning of emptiness. Therefore, one must turn the mind away from pursuing the affairs of this life. Because leisure and endowment have not been wasted, and the essence of leisure and endowment has been obtained, one must meditate on the instructions that are difficult to obtain. In such a space of rig-stong dharmata, all appearances of phenomena, the power and radiance unceasingly, are seen as empty of inherent existence, vast and open, so one must turn the mind away from eternalism. This is also the meditation instruction on death and impermanence, therefore it seizes the stronghold of the unborn, original ground. It is said that bodhicitta has no birth or death from the beginning. No matter how the power of self-arisen wisdom arises, there is no opportunity to accumulate habitual tendencies, therefore one must turn the mind away from the part of sin and non-virtue. Because the aggregation of karma and its results is incomplete, protecting karma and its results like one's eyes refers to this. The state of all outer and inner vessels and contents, the state of body and pure land

It is said that through naturally knowing, people's minds will turn away from desiring to attain higher realms. Similarly, people also realize the faults of samsara. The Teacher said, 'The uncompounded realm is the essence of the Tathagatagarbha.' When the uncompounded realm manifests, one grasps the beginning of liberation. Common mantras call it the basis of the self-nature, the root continuum. Uncommon tantras call it self-born wisdom. Mastering the self-born primordial base is attaining liberation, thus obtaining peaceful coolness from the heat of afflictions. This is the benefit of liberation. The virtuous friend also appears as the root guru of the present due to past virtuous results. Just like the appearance of the guru in a dream, it is a self-manifestation. The guru, the virtuous friend, should also be seen as Dharma in all his actions from the perspective of thought, and one must obey all his teachings from the perspective of action. For the guru, the best offering is respectful service, the medium offering is using body and speech as servants, and the worst offering is the offering of the three circles being completely pure, offering one's possessions without reservation, including the bird's nest-like cushion, and the torma with a tray. The guru also arises from the energy of self-born wisdom, so when realizing the view of awareness and emptiness, he is a great virtuous friend. The two truths are the ultimate truth and the conventional truth. The difference between what can be realized and the realizer is: the ultimate truth that can be realized is realized by the realizer's own self-aware wisdom. The conventional truth that can be realized is the object of the realizer's consciousness, like seeing things in the dark. The ultimate Bodhicitta is the Dharmadhatu, free from elaboration, is beyond words, the ultimate part, and each with self-aware wisdom, not in the form of subject and object, but in an unconditioned way, in the space of the one base realm, all phenomena that appear are seen without being mixed, vast and boundless, this is Bodhicitta. In meditative equipoise, in this way, wind, mind, and awareness are clear. When arising from meditation, with loving-kindness and great compassion, focusing on sentient beings pervading space who have not realized it in this way, and with the power of wisdom focusing on perfect Bodhi, therefore it has two aspects or two meanings, this is a single generation of Bodhicitta.
