Regarding the questions and answers about whether it is necessary to clearly visualize the color and hand gestures of the deity in the generation stage. Regarding the questions and answers about whether it is necessary to clearly visualize the color and hand gestures of the deity in the generation stage. This is a response to the question of whether it is necessary to clearly and precisely visualize the color and hand gestures of the deity in the generation stage of commitment, refuge, and guru yoga. In general, sharp focus is considered the weapon of a yogi, so it is considered good to be as clear as possible. Specifically, the new and old Kadampa schools have slightly different views. According to the new school, if any object of visualization is not clear enough, even to the point of seeing the black and white of the eyes and the hairs of the body, the generation stage is not considered complete. According to the Nyingma school, meditating on the deity and maintaining the natural state of one's own mind without modification are both without difference. The one who meditates on the deity is the mind. The deity to be meditated upon is also the self-luminous essence of the mind. Without meditating on the form of the deity, but allowing the mind to naturally rest in the state of recognizing its own nature, this is also the wisdom being of the deity, the very nature of the Dharmakaya. Therefore, if one follows ordinary conceptual thoughts and delusions, neither the generation stage nor the completion stage can be accomplished. If one is not controlled by the clinging to delusion and recognizes awareness, then it is acceptable whether the deity is clear or not. Because in the self-nature of reality, both the generation stage and the completion stage are spontaneously accomplished as union from the beginning. In general, all beings' body, speech, and mind, as well as the five aggregates, the twelve sense bases, and the eighteen elements, are originally the nature of deities and mantras. Because they do not understand this original reality, they are deluded and wander in samsara. In order to recognize this original reality, empowering initiations for maturation and the practice of the generation and completion stages for liberation are necessary. However, recognizing the original nature as it is from the beginning is called the generation stage. If one meditates on something that is not the deity as the deity, it will not be accomplished. For example, if one recognizes silver as silver, the purpose of silver will be accomplished. If one meditates on a piece of black charcoal as silver, it will not be accomplished. Similarly, if one recognizes a wish-fulfilling jewel as a jewel and prays to it, accomplishments will arise. If one meditates on an ordinary stone as a jewel and prays to it, accomplishments will not arise. For example, whether it is the generation stage or recitations and religious practices, any

Moreover, when the form and posture of the deity appear in your mind, recite the prayers without distraction. Even if the deity's form is not clear, there is no need to generate the desire or attachment of thinking, "It must be clear no matter what." As long as you do any virtuous practice without being distracted from the meaning, that is sufficient. Ultimately, whether you call the deity a Samaya-Jnana deity, Dharmakaya, or Rupakaya, the essence is none other than this self-awareness. As the Great Orgyen said: "The symbolic Buddha is the Sambhogakaya, the Buddha of meaning is whatever the Dharmakaya is. This self-knowingness of reality is directly perceived, do not seek the Buddha from elsewhere, you king and subjects!" Similarly, Guru Yoga is also like that. The externally appearing form of the Guru is merely the symbolic example Guru, but recognizing one's own self-awareness is the Guru of meaning to be symbolized, the actual Dharmakaya. Therefore, the main thing is to not be distracted from one's own self-awareness, in that way there is no separation from the Guru. As Ling Repa said: "Guru and one's own mind are inseparable, clinging to the Rupakaya is lost." Just like that, even if you don't meditate on the body color and hand implements, just remembering the Guru in your mind is the same as your own mind having met the Guru. There is no need to revise it again. Furthermore, if you are not certain that the Guru is originally the Buddha Dharmakaya, and instead meditate on him as a body of flesh and blood, that is a wrong view, and blessings will not arise. Nowadays, people do not see the Guru as a Buddha, but instead have the perception of an ordinary person, and because of that fault, blessings do not enter. Because blessings do not enter, realization does not arise in the continuum. Because that does not arise, there is no time to attain accomplishment. As Drikung Kyobpa Rinpoche said: "If the Guru's blessings do not enter, no matter how you do it, it is contrived." Therefore, you must be certain that the Guru is not an ordinary person, but a Buddha. Therefore, in all Guru practices, the way it is taught to visualize the Guru as Vajradhara or Padmasambhava, etc., is also for the sake of abandoning the perception of an ordinary person. But in reality, no matter what Buddha's name and attire Vajradhara or Padmasambhava, etc., are shown as, you must understand that their essence is none other than your own root Guru. Regarding the appearance of the thigle (bindu) that appears in the field of vision, in other religions and Mahamudra, etc.
