Collection of Teachings by Master Tsamponpa Sonam Tsünpo JTSZ57, 'The Fire Offering Ritual of the Dakini Ocean - Blazing Light of Wisdom' 4-47 'The Fire Offering Ritual of the Dakini Ocean - Blazing Light of Wisdom' 'The Fire Offering Ritual of the Dakini Ocean - Blazing Light of Wisdom' 'The Fire Offering Ritual of the Dakini Ocean - Blazing Light of Wisdom' Homage to the supreme guru, inseparable from Chakrasamvara (Demchok, བདེ་མཆོག) Dakini Ocean! To please the deities of the glorious Dakini Ocean, this tantra mainly explains the guru's oral instructions on fire offerings. There are two types of fire offerings: outer and inner. As stated in the scripture: 'Outer has nine aspects, inner is tummo (gtum mo) yoga.' Therefore, here we discuss the two types of fire offerings: outer and inner. First is the outer fire offering: First, to complete the recitation and supplement any deficiencies in the ritual, the fire offering can be performed even if the recitation is not complete. If you want to perform pacifying, increasing, etc. activities, you must first complete the recitation. Therefore, first, in a place suitable for the activity, perform a brief or detailed ground purification ritual. Then build a fire offering house, making it square, with three lines, facing oneself, and with a door behind it. Inside the fire offering house, make the outer perimeter of all the hearths square, decorated with the main deity's symbols at the four corners. Smear the outer perimeter of the hearth with clay that is half a cubit thick, and smear it with earth and incense that match the color of each hearth. In the center, build or dig a hearth, digging down halfway. On top of it, make a four-finger-wide beak that is one-sixth the length and width of the hearth, and an edge of the same size. In the center, draw the symbol of the deity being offered to. Below the edge, on the outside, draw a sixteen-petal lotus. Before the hearth is dry, scatter flowers of matching colors three times. Among them, the pacifying hearth: one cubit wide, white, and round. In the center is a sixteen-finger lotus, with an eight-finger wheel on top, one finger high, decorated with a white vajra. The increasing hearth: on a yellow base, one and a half cubits wide, one cubit high, in the center of the four cubits, draw an eight-finger jewel, decorated with jewels. The magnetizing hearth: on a red base, a half-cubit or one-cubit wide crescent moon. In the center is a lotus, decorated with a vajra on the lotus. The wrathful hearth: there are four types, such as black, rough, etc., eight fingers or twenty fingers wide. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hexagon: In the center, draw a lotus marked with a vajra. On the hearth, apply black earth mixed with amrita, ashes from burning corpses, donkey, mule, etc. dung, as much as can be found. Scatter with unscented or odorless blue, red flowers, fruit peels, etc., and surround with flames. Also, have lamps with human oil, etc. For expulsion: Six cubits long, heptagonal, with a vajra marked in the center. For hatred, seven cubits long, octagonal, with a curved knife and a vajra marked in the center. For stiffness: Eight cubits long, enneagonal, with a bow and a vajra marked in the center. For killing: Nine cubits long, pentagonal, with a sword and a vajra marked in the center. The base and the like are all the same in the five cases. Alternatively, for pacification, two cubits long; for increase, three; for control, four; for subjugation, five. For all actions: On ground suitable for the action and its result, ten cubits long, decagonal, with various vajras and a vajra marked in the center. Directions: If related to the mandala, the east of the mandala house is for pacification, the south for increase, the west for control, and the north for a wrathful hearth. In the Union Tantra, it is said: the east is for pacification, the south for subjugation, the west for control, and the north for increase. If it is a painted hearth, it is sufficient to visualize it; it is not necessary to actually make it. The edges and marks should be painted in the color of the deity, and all hearths should be made in colors suitable for the action. This is the determination of the hearth. Plague wood: For pacification, it is said to use sala, udumbara, ashoka, etc., but these cannot be found in Tibet. Therefore, any branch that grows from the top of a thornless, milky tree, twelve fingers long, with the top cut evenly, not thicker or thinner than the thumb, with two leaves. The head and tail should be smeared with honey, milk, and butter, and sprinkled with amrita and fragrant water. Others: Those that are longer or shorter than the standard, thick or thin, crooked, without leaves, eaten by worms, etc., defective, without bark, cracked, old, covered with dirt, or dry are not suitable. For increase: The plague wood described for pacification, grown in the middle part of a milky tree, etc., one cubit long, the thickness of one hand, smeared with yogurt, milk, butter, and molasses, and sprinkled with amrita and fragrant scents. For control: It is said to use campaka, etc., but if it cannot be found, use the plague wood described for pacification, five fingers long, or a red tree and red flowers, etc. For wrathful actions: Use nimba and sandalwood, etc., and those that taste pungent. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
