Collection of Instructions by Tsemonpa Sonam Gyaltsen JTSZ22: The Visualization, Bathing Ritual, and Dharani Sutra of the Black-Blue Vajra Destroyer The Visualization, Bathing Ritual, and Dharani Sutra of the Black-Blue Vajra Destroyer The Visualization, Bathing Ritual, and Dharani Sutra of the Black-Blue Vajra Destroyer Om Svasti Siddham (Sanskrit: Om Svasti Siddham, May there be auspicious accomplishment). Those who wish to practice the Bhagavan Vajra Destroyer and thereby benefit sentient beings should properly arrange a vase in the center of a mandala drawn with colored powders, surrounded by an eight-petaled lotus, a vajra fence, and a mountain of flames. Offerings should be arranged around it, and tormas for the yidam and the three categories of guests should be set out. Sit comfortably on your seat, and begin with the blessing of the offerings, taking refuge, and generating bodhicitta. Visualize yourself clearly as the Vajra Destroyer deity. From the syllable Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) on the sun disc in your heart, radiate light and invite the assembly of merit. Perform the seven-branch offering and cultivate the four immeasurables. Purify into emptiness with the Svabhava (Tibetan: སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ, Devanagari: स्वभाव, Romanized Sanskrit: svabhāva, Literal meaning: Self-nature) mantra. From emptiness, from Pam (Tibetan: པཾ, Devanagari: वं, Romanized Sanskrit: vaṃ, Literal meaning: Pam) arises a lotus, and from Ram (Tibetan: རཾ, Devanagari: रं, Romanized Sanskrit: raṃ, Literal meaning: Ram) arises a sun disc. Above the sun disc, the syllable Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) radiates light. Shining upwards, it forms a vajra tent and vajra net above; shining downwards, it forms a vajra foundation below; shining in all directions, it forms vajra walls and fences in all directions. Outside of this, surrounded by a mountain of wisdom flames, in the center of this vast protective wheel, from Pam (Tibetan: པཾ, Devanagari: वं, Romanized Sanskrit: vaṃ, Literal meaning: Pam) arises a lotus, and from Ram (Tibetan: རཾ, Devanagari: रं, Romanized Sanskrit: raṃ, Literal meaning: Ram) arises a sun disc. Above the sun disc, from the syllable Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) arises a blue five-pronged vajra, marked with the syllable Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum). It radiates light, accomplishes benefit, and then gathers back, completely transforming. You become the Vajra Destroyer deity, with a blue-black body, one face, and two arms. The right hand holds aloft a five-pronged vajra, and the left hand holds a bell resting against the hip. The upper body is adorned with a blue silk garment, and the lower body wears a tiger skin skirt. Adorned with snakes and various jewels, the head wears a double-layered vajra skull crown. The teeth are bared, the three eyes are wide open, the eye sockets are red, the gaze is fierce, and the eyebrows and beard are reddish-yellow, pointing upwards. He dwells in the midst of wisdom flames and a pile of fire, in a wrathful posture. At his crown is the syllable Om (Tibetan: ༀ, Devanagari: ॐ, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, Literal meaning: Om), at his throat is the syllable Ah (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Devanagari: आः, Romanized Sanskrit: āḥ, Literal meaning: Ah), and at his heart is the syllable Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum). The syllable Hum (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ, Devanagari: हुं, Romanized Sanskrit: hūṃ, Literal meaning: Hum) radiates light, and you visualize inviting the Vajra Destroyer deity and his retinue from their natural abode. Recite: Om Sarva Tathagata Vajra Vidara Sa Pariwara Argham Pratichcha Ye Svaha. Patyam Pratichcha Ye Svaha. Vajra Pushpe. Dhupe. Aloke. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
