During the practice of this deity, Remati was placed in the palm of the hand and spun like an egg, riding on a mule and circling the four continents once, grabbing both ears and spinning once. In this way, obstacles were repeatedly created, driving her mad. Then, the Protector himself struck Remati with an ash whip, saying, "You destroyer of the Dharma, oath-breaker, meat-eater!" Thus, he drove Remati mad. "My sister is still creating obstacles for you. Practice her!" Having said this, he bestowed the practice of the Protector. Among these, there are solitary practices and combined practices. Within the method of solitary practice, there are male solitary practices and female solitary practices. Within male solitary practice, there are practices in the manner of a lord of hosts and practices in the manner of a command. Within female solitary practice, there are practices in the manner of Ekajati, practices in the manner of Remati, practices in the manner of Ebalmo, practices in the manner of Monmo, and practices in the manner of a heretical goddess, totaling five. Within combined practice, there are practices in the manner of father and mother and practices in the manner of siblings, two in all. In either of these two practices, one can practice with the retinue of Monpa, making four practices in total. The retinue includes the Karmic Protector with a copper knife, the five Monpa siblings, the Lord of the Cemetery, the Eight Classes of Gods and Demons, the practice of the Messenger, the practice of the Monpa, and various accounts of the origin of the Monpa. This is a description of how the Great Black One and his sister arose, to encourage disciples with faith and diligence. Compiled by Jamyang Mati. This account of the various origins of the glorious Great Black One and his sister was written by Jamyang Mati Panchen at Geden Sa-sang at the repeated request of many disciples. May there be auspiciousness! May there be accomplishment! May there be perfection! By the virtue of this well-constructed merit, may we, in this life and in all lifetimes, revere and cherish the precious teachings of the Buddha, and may we always uphold them from every direction! The origin of the glorious Protector, the Great Black One and his sister.
