The Empowerment Practice of the Blessed Vajrasattva The Empowerment Practice of the Blessed Vajrasattva The Empowerment Practice of the Blessed Vajrasattva In Sanskrit: Bhagavan Vajrasattva sadhani svatisthanopadesakrama nama In Tibetan: The Empowerment Practice of the Blessed Vajrasattva, called "The Gradual Instructions." Homage to glorious Vajrasattva! May the heart of Vajra Pride be pleased! Like a powerful waterwheel, Those who enter this (practice) will find it truly wondrous in their hearts. I will briefly write down the lineage of the Guru's instructions. In a pleasing place, Having sat upon a comfortable seat, With actions that possess inherent nature, The wise should meditate. At the heart, the moon and the sun. Contemplate the supreme letter and the first vajra. From HRIH, secretly on a lotus, on a moon, from HUM arises a vajra with OM. Contemplate it as the essence of the tongue. A sum ksum yum hum ah sam From that, the moon and the sun, on the left and right hands, nine goddesses and Vairochana Vajrasattva. Or, Alternatively, the vajra and the lotus, which transform into the males of the lunar goddesses. With this, first generate pride. Then, generate Vajrasattva himself, establish the seed syllable, And bless the body, speech, and mind. OM HUM PHAT is the protection of oneself. Again, the protection of the place: OM HUM PHAT SVAHA. From the mudra of Vajrasattva, Raise smoke, fragrance, and light, Mind is not vajra, And the supreme foundation of the phurba that binds the ten directions, Contemplate the vajra fence and the tent blazing fiercely. OM HUM AM SVAHA. Make the five families as ornaments on the head, And at the heart, And the back of the neck, And the crown of the head, And hang silk banners behind the ears. OM TUM. OM HUM SVAHA. OM VAJRA TUSYA HO. Invite the Tathagatas and make offerings, Prostrations, Taking refuge, and all other rituals should be performed. Or the letter of the mind at the heart, KSHUM, filling the body with a garland of burning letters, Having contemplated all forms as emptiness, The seed syllable at the heart is invisible like a hair, OM SVABHAVA SHUDDHA SARVA DHARMA SVABHAVA SHUDDHO HAM.
