Therefore, the former considers things to exist, and also considers things to be free from both existence and non-existence, this is the seventh point. Similarly, the former also considers it to be conditioned phenomena, and also considers it to be unconditioned phenomena, this is the eighth point. Furthermore, the former considers that all clear awareness that is compatible with the general Tibetan understanding, just that awareness itself is the object of other-powered nature. And the appearance of duality that appears on that awareness alone, in its own characteristic, is the completely imputed. The part of clear awareness together with the appearance of duality is other-powered nature, and the part of clear awareness that is not tainted by the two characteristics from the beginning is the thoroughly established nature. Therefore, other-powered nature and thoroughly established nature are different in terms of their opposite aspects, and although they are different in terms of their characteristics, the object of other-powered nature itself and the essence of thoroughly established nature are the same. The latter, however, considers that the measured part measured by various mental concepts, and the appearing part that appears as external objects, that is, the self-characteristic of what is grasped is the completely imputed, and the self-characteristic of mind, mental factors, and consciousness, that is, the consciousness included in conventional consciousness or conceptual consciousness is other-powered nature, and the self-nature of clear awareness that is free from elaboration is the thoroughly established nature. Therefore, although the completely imputed is not different in substance from the other-powered nature, it is very different in terms of its characteristics. The thoroughly established nature and the other-powered nature are not only different in terms of their opposite aspects and characteristics, but also their essence is not the same. The former considers that this establishment is closer to the Mind-Only school, and thinks that this is the only view of the Middle Way school. This is the ninth point. For that reason, the former considers that the completely imputed is completely covered by non-truth, the thoroughly established nature is completely covered by truth, and the other-powered nature has two parts. The latter, however, considers that both the completely imputed and the other-powered nature are completely covered by non-truth. This is the tenth point. Similarly, the former says that all self-awareness, in terms of the self-characteristic of self-awareness, is only ultimate truth. The latter, however, considers that the self-awareness of conventional consciousness is only conventional truth, therefore, self-awareness also has two types: conventional truth and ultimate truth. This is the eleventh point. The former considers that the thoroughly established nature is emptiness, the completely imputed is only emptiness, but not emptiness itself. It considers that emptiness is completely covered by ultimate truth. The latter considers that all phenomena and the nature of phenomena must be said to be only emptiness. Emptiness is not completely covered by ultimate truth, the categories of names are not considered to be pervasive, and are mainly used for meaning. This is the twelfth point. Similarly,

In the past, the pramana texts and Abhidharma, etc., of the earlier masters were mostly consistent with the common language. The basis of establishment is pervaded by either things or non-things. Consciousness is pervaded by things. Ultimate reality is not a thing. Unconditioned phenomena are non-things such as space. Similarly, suchness has unconditioned aspects arising from karma and afflictions, as well as newly arising unconditioned aspects of mere clarity and awareness. These are considered unconditioned from the perspective of categories. They are not unconditioned in a way that contradicts function and characteristic. Therefore, they say that the unconditioned is imputed. The later masters say that what is explained in pramana, Abhidharma, etc., is the system of primarily establishing the conventional. In this context of definitively establishing the ultimate, the conventional is pervaded by things and non-things, and things and non-things are also pervaded by the conventional. Ultimate reality is neither a thing nor a non-thing, so the basis of establishment is not pervaded by it. Wisdom is not a thing but is consciousness, so consciousness is not pervaded by things. It is very unreasonable to consider non-things as ultimate reality, and considering things as ultimate reality is the system of the materialists. All non-things, such as space, which the Abhidharmikas consider to be unconditioned, are conditioned phenomena in this context. Therefore, things and non-things are pervaded by the conditioned. Ultimate unconditioned is real. Space, etc., are imputed unconditioned, they say. Thirteenth. Furthermore, the earlier masters considered the self-nature of the basis of emptiness, other-emptiness, to be empty of the object of negation, the imputed. That itself is the ultimate reality that is empty of the conventional. The later masters, however, considered the basis of emptiness to be the perfectly established. The object of negation is empty of both other-emptiness and the imputed, which is the meaning of being empty of ultimate and conventional. Being empty of other-emptiness and the imputed is only in the context of definitively establishing the conventional truth. Fourteenth. Furthermore, the earlier masters considered that although "pure other-emptiness" is widely known in Tibet, it is actually not other-emptiness, but the perfectly established that is the opposite of inversion. The perfectly established that is the opposite of inversion is also the nature of the perfectly established. Moreover, the term "pure other-emptiness" has no clear source, so they thought it was not good to use this term. The later masters, however, considered that although the term "pure other-emptiness" does not appear explicitly in the scriptures, it is permissible to use the term because the meaning is complete, because the Buddha's teachings are meaningful.
