Escaping from the path of demons, the obscurations of karma will be exhausted, immeasurable and excellent merit will be obtained, and even Buddhahood will be attained. This is the benefit of entering this path. Compared to practicing other dharmas for countless eons, practicing this even for a moment is more excellent. How to enter? By following the words of valid measure, entering with complete branches of reasoning, and preventing deceitful denial. What to enter, and why to enter? Relying on what to enter, and what are the benefits of entering, and how to enter? First, there are five wonderful aspects of virtue. The ultimate truth, the Thusness, the essence of the holy self. The ultimate truth, indivisible, all-pervading. Selflessness, the Tathagatagarbha is the supreme of the self. The reality, the great Madhyamaka, is unchanging. Not understanding this meaning, from ignorance and confusion, at the base stage, the sudden phenomena of samsara arise. The way to realize this is called the path. When each is purified from its own defilements, it is given the name of fruit. This is the concise explanation of the meaning of Madhyamaka: what is to be realized is reality, the Madhyamaka of meaning; what realizes is experience, the Madhyamaka of the path. Both the base and the fruit are included in the first category. Among them, for the moment, the phenomena of existence, appearances and sounds are conventional, the objects of the discriminating consciousness. The Dharmadhatu of ultimate truth is devoid of the elaboration of wisdom. Originally peaceful, Nirvana is the nature of Dharma. The realms of discriminating consciousness and wisdom are different, the truthfulness of conventional and ultimate truth are different, the nature is one but liberated from one, the characteristics are contradictory but liberated from otherness. Wisdom exists with an unchanging essence, but the other never can be established. For things that do not exist, there is neither one nor otherness. There is no birth or death, permanence or annihilation, coming or going, existence or non-existence. If you understand this principle, you understand all the Mahayana. Not understanding this, you will fall into the abyss of permanence and annihilation. You will understand the meaning of great merit. The most excellent minds will find certainty in this. Abandoning the two extremes of living is the Middle Way. In conduct, not mistakenly taking or rejecting is also the Middle Way. The union of Shamatha and Vipassana in meditation is the Middle Way. In all stages of view, combine with the Middle Way. Because it is empty of self and agent, it abandons the extreme of existence. Because cause and effect are not deceiving, it is free from the extreme of annihilation. Because there is only a stream of mind, and no I, self, or other, it is eternally abiding, and there is no previous arising and annihilation. Everything is imputed, and originally does not exist.
