The Consecration Ritual: Expanding Benefit for Beings Consecration Ritual: Expanding Benefit for Beings The Consecration Ritual called "Expanding Benefit for Beings" is presented herein. Namo Vajradharaya (藏文,梵文天城体,namo vajradharaya,Homage to Vajradhara). This is the intermediate consecration ritual called "Expanding Benefit for Beings," based on the general secret ritual used in common for all mandalas. Homage to the Buddha! Having paid homage to the supreme guru and the special deity, and having respectfully bowed to the main deity of the mandala, I shall write a condensed ritual for blessing body images and the like. For this, the teacher, possessing the qualities, should perform the actual consecration at an auspicious time, such as a good time, day, constellation, or conjunction. Whether it relies on an external mandala of colored powders, paintings, or mental constructs, or whether it relies solely on a meditative mandala, it is definitely good to rely on a complete mandala. It is also sufficient to rely on a single deity or other yoga. Now, according to the custom of those who prefer brevity, without making an elaborate outer mandala, on a platform in any location, place a mandala. In the center, place a cluster of nine flower arrangements. Outside of that, place two clusters in each of the four directions, and one in each of the four corners. Outside of that, place slightly larger ones in the four directions. If condensing, that is sufficient. If elaborating, you may also place a small one in each of the four corners. Place the flower clusters of the wrathful deities above and below to the east and west of that. On top of that, place a victory vase on a throne, or you may place it on either the right or left side. The action vase must be placed to the left of the mandala from then on. In front of that, arrange the offering torma in accordance with the general practice. In a spacious area, in any direction, place a seat with eight lotus petals, whether it is made of colored powders or a painting. If that is not available, a clean base will suffice as appropriate. On top of that, if available and desiring to elaborate, arrange eight bathing vases in the eight directions and corners. In the center, place a bathing basin on a throne, along with a mirror, silk cloths, pleasant fragrances, and so on. If eight are not available, four vases will do. If even that is not available, one will do. If there are four, place the vases in the four directions and place the throne in the center. If there is only one, place the vase in the center. Body

Also, whatever needs to be consecrated, such as images, should be made manifest. Therefore, the general summary of the one-day consecration ritual is: Gather the necessary items and arrange them well; perform the two preliminary practices, self-generation, and vase practice; purify, bathe, generate the support, and invoke the wisdom beings; bestow empowerment, make offerings, open the eyes, and grant authority; make supplications, offer the subsequent offerings, offer the torma, exhort the patrons; recite auspicious verses, perform the subsequent absorption, and conduct the fire offering. The sequence of the ritual is condensed into eighteen parts. First, there are twenty-two activities. If there is an elaborate front-generation mandala, add it; if not, perform the vase and mandala together. Purification is explained in three parts, and bathing and offering in two. Invoking the wisdom beings includes inviting the beings, dispelling obstacles, making offerings, and making supplications, totaling five. In the context of offerings, there are supreme offerings and fire offerings. Offering food, anointing, mouthwash, offering praise, and granting authority over the implements and mantras, totaling seven. The two aspects of stability, the mantra, and the specific statement; the limbs of supplication have four aspects. Front-generation offering, confession and supplication, requesting to descend and remain; the subsequent offering becomes three aspects. Gathering the implements, dissolving the deities, protecting oneself; aspiration and auspiciousness are the four activities of the subsequent absorption. In the sequence of preliminary practices, main practice, and subsequent practices, the limbs of the ritual are explained as five, seven, and six. Thus, the general preliminary practices of the ritual are two, self-generation, vase generation, purifying the support, and bathing and offering, totaling five preliminary practices. Generating the support as the commitment being, invoking the wisdom beings, bestowing empowerment, making offerings, opening the eyes, granting authority, and making supplications are the seven main practices of the ritual. Subsequent ritual: offering the torma, exhorting the patrons, extensive auspicious verses, subsequent absorption, and the fire offering are the six subsequent activities, thus totaling eighteen. First, the two general preliminary practices of the ritual are: the preliminary torma and blessing the place and implements, according to the tradition of the self-generation ritual being performed, or because it is a common practice, the preliminary torma is offered with the general dakini torma ritual.
