The oral instructions for the transference of the Hevajra and the instruction manual for the ninefold path, the unerring secret essence. The oral instructions for the transference of the Hevajra and the instruction manual for the ninefold path, the unerring secret essence. To the Yogini, glorious wheel, I go for refuge with utmost reverence. I will write a brief summary of the practice sequence of the profound and supreme oral instructions. Now, blessed by the accomplished master, the glorious Rikhutripa himself, the lord Maitripa, the lord of yoga, was relied upon for a long time by the venerable Lhodrak Marpa. From him, he heard the complete instructions on the root explanation of Hevajra, the Buddha's skull, and the four mudras that are completely non-abiding and non-conceptual. At this time, for Hevajra, the ninefold path of the completion stage, or what is known as the ninefold cycle, arose. In the texts of these oral instructions, although the preliminaries are not mentioned separately, if you request this instruction separately, you should know that the preliminaries are similar to the transference. The main practice consists of three parts: the oral instructions for tummo, the oral instructions for mudra, and the oral instructions for mahamudra. The first part includes the preliminary practice of breath training for tummo itself, and the actual practice of tummo. The first part is further divided into extensive and concise methods. The first extensive method includes four parts: learning to relax the breath, learning to count and calculate, learning about colors and shapes, and learning about vase breathing. The first is to maintain the key points of the body, expel stale air many times, then slowly draw air in, and then let the air remain naturally, focusing on the inhalation and exhalation of breath. Only observe the speed of the breath, from where it returns, to where it goes, and when it stays at the navel point, without any other focus. The second counting includes four parts: counting itself, abiding, following, and purification. The first, the time is when bliss and emptiness are united, when the downward-moving air automatically reverses upward. The path of liberation is when the air first enters and then returns. The thought is: in the navel is Āḥ (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आ,梵文罗马拟音:ā,汉语字面意思:阿), in the secret place is Oṃ (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), in the heart or throat is Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). Visualize the air arising from these three places. Focus on where the air arises from. The number is to count accurately from one to ten. The recitation is to recite Oṃ (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡) when exhaling.

Entering is Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城體:हूँ,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,字面意思:Hūṃ), which are two letters, and adding abiding is Āḥ (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城體:आः,梵文羅馬擬音:āḥ,字面意思:Āḥ), it is said there are thirteen letters. This is the method of the Great Illusion Net. In the Hevajra practice, entering is Oṃ (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城體:ओ,梵文羅馬擬音:oṃ,字面意思:Oṃ), abiding is Āḥ (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城體:आः,梵文羅馬擬音:āḥ,字面意思:Āḥ), and going out is Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུཾ,梵文天城體:हूँ,梵文羅馬擬音:hūṃ,字面意思:Hūṃ), just like in Guhyasamāja, but it is said that whichever way you do it, it is not contradictory. Although it is explained like this, the practice is: First, control the going in and out of the air, and always practice walking without making mistakes between ten times, doing one visualization cycle. Then, when the air enters, visualize it arising from the red Oṃ (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城體:ओ,梵文羅馬擬音:oṃ,字面意思:Oṃ) in the throat, and going to the soles of the feet. Abide for a moment, and focus the mind on the Āḥ (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城體:आः,梵文羅馬擬音:āḥ,字面意思:Āḥ) at the navel. When going out, visualize it arising from the white Oṃ (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城體:ओ,梵文羅馬擬音:oṃ,字面意思:Oṃ) in the secret place, and spreading to the crown of the head and the fingers. Practice this visualization a little skillfully, and also do one visualization cycle for this. Then, on top of that visualization, add the counting method without making mistakes, as before, and you must practice. This is one visualization cycle. This is known as Vajra recitation. Second, abiding is, visualize the abiding time becoming longer, and the time for both arising and entering becoming shorter. Third, following is, having generated calm abiding by focusing on the three, entering, abiding, and rising, together with their letters. Fourth, complete purity is, the air does not flow and stops, the fierce fire blazes as appropriate, and various drops melt, generating the experience of bliss and emptiness and superior insight. Third, learning about color and shape is: When the air goes out, it arises in the form of rays of light from the navel or the secret place, rises upwards from the center of the body, emerges from the nostrils, and goes out far away, being rough and powerful, and with great light. If the disease is mainly cold, then visualize red; if it is mainly hot, then visualize white; if it is balanced, then visualize blue or five colors. Then, when the air comes in, visualize it being the same color, but soft and weak, and the previous air flowing in the opposite direction. Below the throat, the color and shape become clear, and it reaches the navel, the place of soft touch. When abiding, visualize it disappearing below the navel. This controls the air and generates bliss. Fourth, learning the vase breathing is: There are two types, gradually stopping and forcibly stopping. The first is exhaling: Exhale the stale air about ten times.
