Ascribed to the Notes on the Commentary on the Ten Verses Ascribed to the Notes on the Commentary on the Ten Verses Ascribed to the Notes on the Commentary on the Ten Verses. Om Svasti! I prostrate to the glorious Lord of the Mandala, And to the inseparable Jetsun. According to the words of the Lama, I will diligently make notes on the meaning of the excellent Ten Verses. May those with eyes forgive me. In explaining this text called "Ten Verses," there are two or three aspects: entering into the explanation, briefly stating the explanation itself, or completing the explanation. Firstly, there are two aspects: explaining the meaning of the title and the translator's homage. First, the meaning of the title: In Sanskrit: Daśa-gāthā-nāma-marga-krama. When translated into Tibetan, it is called "The Order of the Path of Ten Verses." Daśa is ten, gāthā is verses, nāma is called, marga is of the path, and krama is the order. Secondly, the translator's homage: Glory to Heruka! That is, the Sanskrit word for glory is Śrī, which means the wisdom that is free from the duality of grasping and being grasped, the ultimate and supreme glory desired by all beings. He means Heru, which was not produced by any cause in the beginning. Because it has abandoned birth, it is the emptiness that is free from cause in the beginning. Ru is Rūpa, which means form, assembly, or arrangement. Therefore, there is no establishment of form or arrangement in the middle. Therefore, it is the emptiness that is free from fear. Ka means not abiding anywhere in the end, the emptiness that is free from abiding. That is: Śrī is non-dual wisdom, He is the emptiness of causes, etc., Ru is separation from assembly, Ka is not abiding anywhere. It is said that I prostrate to the ultimate glorious Heruka, the Dharma-nature Tathāgatagarbha, which is free from the three states of permanence, annihilation, arising, cessation, and abiding. Who prostrates? The translator Jetsun himself, who translated the text. The second part of the root also has three parts: praise, vowing to compose, and the actual explanation. The first is: First, I prostrate to the supreme Lama, the Wisdom Consort Vajra Bliss.

With respectful homage! Its meaning is: With the most pure intention, to the Guru, that is, the one inseparable from the Vajra Master, the Lord of the Wheel, first, that is, initially prostrate, and then pay homage to the Yidam. Among them, the Wisdom Primordial Mother is the chief of the Mandala of the Dharmadhatu Ultimate Emptiness Wisdom Goddess, whose names include Vajra Blissful Mother, Various Mothers, Vajra Selfless Mother, Vajravarahi, and many others. Here, with great reverence, one prostrates to Vajra Blissful Mother or Vajravarahi. Who composed this treatise? It is the author of the treatise, the teacher Buddha Natha himself. So, why is it necessary to pay homage and prostrate to the Guru and Yidam? Generally speaking, all the accomplishments of the Mantrayana must be obtained from the Yidam, and this also depends on the blessings of the Guru to arise. Therefore, one must first pay homage to them. Generally, praise and prostration are because the author of the treatise himself belongs to the holy, that there are no obstacles in writing and that it can be completed perfectly, in order to complete the accumulation of merit, and also to teach others to learn this way. Second, for whom is it written? It is written for the Pandit "Good Name", that is, for Sādhu Kīrti. That is to say, it is written to make the one with good lineage and good name rejoice. The stages of the path of the Secret Mantra Tantra are what all those with eyes have declared, and having obtained the teachings of the Great Bliss Vajra, be sure to have deep faith in this. Its meaning is: The so-called "one with lineage" refers to three types: the lineage of the Hearers' Vehicle, the lineage of the Solitary Realizers' Vehicle, and the lineage of the Great Vehicle. Here, it refers to the Great Vehicle, and the fruit of the Great Vehicle, that is, the lineage of the Secret Mantra Vehicle, therefore it is called "one with lineage". It is written to make the Pandit named "Good Name" rejoice. So, what kind of treatise is to be written? It will expound the stages of the path that are declared in the profound Secret Mantra Tantras. So, is this expounded by the Great Accomplished One with his own intelligence? No, because it is a direct vision of the meaning of the reality of the profound Secret Mantra
