Through the path of contemplation, pressing on the vital points of the body, and through the practice of obstructing karmic winds, these (experiences) will manifest like treasures extracted from underground. Now, even for beginners, as long as the clarity of mind is not interrupted, various empty forms will appear, which is a true sign that the nature of mind is the perfect emptiness endowed with all excellence, and that it abides as the image of the three realms of samsara and nirvana. Therefore, one should generate such certainty. Whatever mind in which images appear is free from elaboration and cannot be grasped, and when the appearance of suffering subsides and a state of ease remains, that is a true sign that the unchanging nature of mind abides in great bliss. Therefore, one must generate such certainty. Ultimately, the wisdom of the Buddha is spontaneously perfect within one's own mind, and by diligently striving to purify the adventitious stains that obscure it, one will be able to quickly gain mastery over the state of perfect Buddhahood. Here it is said: A precious human body, extremely difficult to find, has been obtained. Having met the ocean of nectar-like sacred Dharma, which clearly shows all that should be adopted and abandoned, how can one bear to waste it meaninglessly? As the count of years and months gradually decreases, even the time of long kalpas quickly comes to an end. What need is there to mention the lifespan of humans in this age of strife? Do not be controlled by procrastination and laziness! Even this body, which is so dearly cherished, will quickly be abandoned. What need is there to mention lands, wealth, and so forth? Praises and sweet words are like echoes in the mountains. Who would cling to that which has no essence? Virtuous and non-virtuous actions follow the mind. One has no control over where one will be born in the next life. When led by karma to the precipice of the six realms, all actions other than Dharma will deceive you. The suffering of samsara is like a vast ocean, its depths unseen and exceedingly difficult to cross. One following another, like waves in the water, this wheel of suffering has no end. The so-called suffering of samsara is not some other truly existing, independent entity. Rather, when the deluded appearances of mind arise, suffering is experienced as if it were real. For example, when a person falls asleep and dreams

I dreamt of falling off a cliff and injuring my body. Even though there is no cliff and no body to fall, I experience suffering as if I were actually falling. In all self, other, inner, outer, vessel, and contents, There is never any establishment of what is called "I" or "mine". Therefore, thinking for oneself is a mistake. All sentient beings, as vast as the sky, are deluded by their own minds. In order to dry up the ocean of delusion, If one initiates great diligence with one's own mind, Delusion will be cleared, and in the primordial state, Constantly abiding, one will attain Buddhahood. Impure appearances, the grasping and the grasped, are the dharmas of samsara. Those who grasp them as existent have the view of permanence. The essence of wisdom in the realm of ultimate reality, If one thinks it does not exist, one is an inferior with the view of nihilism. Persons and so forth, conditioned things, If one thinks they are imperishable and permanent, it is the view of permanence. Cause and effect, dependent arising, arise unceasingly at all times, Denying virtuous and non-virtuous actions is the view of nihilism. The conventional truth is also free from the extremes of permanence and annihilation, And in the way of ultimate reality, both extremes are abandoned. Knowing this way is a pure view. Otherwise, even if one speaks eloquently, the essential meaning is lost. The ultimate self-awareness, the Sugata-garbha, Is complete with all aspects, and its nature is unchanging. Conventional samsara and nirvana, all dharmas have never existed. That alone is the essence of the pure view. Always abandon evil with body, speech, and mind, Generate virtuous thoughts and virtuous actions, Virtuous words and the intention to benefit others. This is the practice needed for all vehicles. Be skilled in all fields of knowledge and all sacred Dharma, Attain all qualities, accomplish all samadhis, Abandon all faults, enter all vehicles, Rely on all methods, accomplish the benefit of all sentient beings. There is nothing among virtuous dharmas that is not practiced. All actions are dedicated to the benefit of sentient beings, Cultivate joy in all the virtues of others. This is the practice of all the Great Vehicles. Even if the conduct is good, there is no grasping of good, And while being meticulous in the places of what to accept and reject, Know all actions to be like illusions. This is the pure discipline of the sons of the Victorious Ones. All appearances are mandalas and wheels, All sounds are speech, and the nature of mind is the Vajra of the Heart. With particular devotion and free from grasping at characteristics, Meditate on the lama as the essence of all Buddhas combined. With unwavering faith in the deities of Secret Mantra, Hold the samaya more dear than life.
