Whatever needs to be tamed, he shows the means accordingly. Know him as the emanation body of the Victorious One. Though he knows all knowable things in an instant, He has no attachment to this or that. It is continuous and pervades all, Like reflections in a mirror, This is the mirror-like wisdom. Seeing the equality of all phenomena, He has great compassion with equality for self and others. This is the wisdom of equality. Without attachment or hindrance, the nature of all things Is clear and not separate. He sees in a way that is without seeing. This is the discriminating wisdom. In non-conceptual spontaneity, Benefit for beings arises without partiality. The wisdom of accomplishing activities Is like a wish-fulfilling jewel. The wisdom of the dharmadhatu Is without bias and without limit. The inexpressible mind-essence of the dharmadhatu, All wisdom arises from this. When the mind is stained, Endless karma, afflictions, and suffering appear. It arises from the mind and dissolves into the mind. When abiding on the path of yoga, When purity and impurity are mixed, The experiences and powers of body, speech, and mind, And whatever qualities of mind-appearance there are, Arise from the mind and cease in the mind. When the mind itself is utterly pure, It is named "Buddha," Possessing the three bodies and five wisdoms, Qualities and activities that are inexhaustible, The mind's own power is continuous. Sentient beings, Bodhisattvas, and Those called Buddhas, these three, Are names for the single mind-essence. When the mind-essence is settled, The ground, path, and result are settled. The supreme Dharma King, Mahamudra, You should diligently strive for one liberation of all. At the urging of friends and disciples, Who have faith and fortune, In relation to the yogi Taranatha, Who is without bias or partiality, I have abandoned endless verbal elaboration, Without looking at elegant composition, But as an urging on the essential points of profound practice, I have written and offered this in brief. Mangalam! Good! A concise talk urging the essentials of profound practice.
