Collected Teachings of Tilopa TILO11 Written Explanation of Kakha Doha 1-5-4a ༄༅། །Written Explanation of Kakha Doha ༄༅། །In Indian language: Kakha Haladohati Pana. In Tibetan: Written Explanation of Kakha Doha. Homage to glorious Heruka! Ka (seed syllable) means existing within the lotus of the mother. Kate Kamala is the lotus, which is the mother's lotus. The syllable Ka (seed syllable) existing therein is Kakulishana Dorje, the equal union of Vajra and Padma. Kaka is Kayana, the body of method and wisdom. Combining means embracing, etc. 'Nectar drips' means that by its power, the hare-bearer drips. Whose? Ḍombi Nī, the young woman, the maiden. That maiden, outwardly, is a goddess; inwardly, the maiden is a part of wisdom. Embracing is the inseparability of method and wisdom. Ka (seed syllable) is Kapur Nagpur, referring to Bodhicitta, the nature of the four joys. Dripping means continuously inseparable from the bliss of the four joys. At that time, like the branches of spring, 1-5-4b For example, in springtime, trees grow branches, leaves, and flowers, bringing joy to beings. Similarly, here, when the Sahajānanda (co-emergent bliss), the culmination of the four joys, arises in the yogi's continuum, by realizing the meaning of Suchness, the meaning of the clear light of great bliss is manifested. This is the meaning of Ka (seed syllable). Kha (seed syllable) is Khasa ma, referring to the sky. The sky is the nature of emptiness. Where does that emptiness reside? It resides in the forehead, in the wheel of great bliss. This is the meaning of Kha (seed syllable). Kha (seed syllable) is Khama, meaning naked. Naked refers to the naked ascetics. For example, just as the naked ascetics of the outsiders have no clothes or possessions, etc., so here, being without color, shape, body, limbs, and parts, it is naked, referring to the co-emergent mind. If the meaning of such nakedness is realized, then Kha (seed syllable) is Khahiba, meaning to eat. Even if the yogi eats, drinks, and enjoys desirable qualities, it will not harm him, because he has manifested the meaning of non-abiding Nirvana. Kha (seed syllable) is Khamana, meaning naked. Who can realize such naked yoga? It can be realized through joy and contentment, but not by others. This is the meaning of Kha (seed syllable). Ga (seed syllable) is Gagana, referring to the sky. The sky is the nature of emptiness, therefore it pervades everything like the sky. 1-5-5a Realizing the meaning of such a sky. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ka: It means stability, that is, one's own mind will not be harmed by other factors. Ka: It is kāmanā, which is the sky. Like the emptiness of the sky, by repeatedly familiarizing oneself with it, one will realize that all dharmas are of the nature of emptiness. If one realizes such a meaning, just as a thirsty person drinks water, the yogi will feel satisfied and fulfilled. Ka: It is Ganga (the Ganges), just as the Ganges and Yamuna rivers merge together. Here, if one can stop the unmoving and infinite light flowing in the continuum of sentient beings, make it disappear and integrate it into the body, one will not grow old, etc. Or, if one can stop the individual flow of Bodhicitta and distribute it to the channels, etc., it will not change. Alternatively, the Ganges is skillful means, and the Yamuna is wisdom. If one can bind the two together, making them non-dual, one will manifest the meaning of Mahamudra. Ka: It is gam, which means to go. Āgamana, which means to come without coming. If one realizes the meaning of Mahamudra, one can stop clinging to existence, that is, relying on the five sensual pleasures to come and go, thereby eliminating birth and death, etc. This is the meaning of Ka. Gha: It is ghaṇṭā, which means bell. The bell is the nature of wisdom, which is emptiness. Glorious Heruka outwardly is Heruka, but inwardly Heruka is the nature of one's own mind. 'Joy' means that one feels joy and satisfaction because of emptiness, not because of anything else, so one should only practice emptiness. This is the meaning of Gha. Gha: It is ghana hana, which means again and again. Nairātmyā (No-self Mother) outwardly looks like the goddess Nairātmyā embracing from the neck. Inwardly, Nairātmyā is emptiness, and emptiness is inseparable from compassion. Embracing this meaning, that is, practicing repeatedly, one will attain Mahamudra. Once one realizes this, it is ghana ghana hana, again and again. If one becomes familiar with it repeatedly, the yogi's wind and mind will both transfer and merge into Avadhūti. Gha: It is ghariṇī, which means housewife. Like a household, neither wind nor mind will flow, and the original mind will become the nature of co-emergence. This is the meaning of Gha. Nga: It is related to the inversion of ṇa. ṇa: It is ṇaya, which means original. The nature of the original mind is to realize emptiness through self-awareness, not to make it empty through conceptual thought. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
