TILO1 Teachings of Tilopa: The Song of the Imperishable Vajra Treasury of Body, Speech, and Mind, composed by the Great Accomplished Master, Saraha's Feet. The Song of the Imperishable Vajra Treasury of Body, Speech, and Mind, composed by the Great Accomplished Master, Saraha's Feet. In Indian language: Kāyakoṣamaridhābajragītā. In Tibetan language: The Song of the Imperishable Vajra Treasury of Body. Homage to youthful Mañjuśrī! Alas! The matted-haired one who clings to 'I' and 'doing,' The naked Brahmin, the Saṅgha school, and, The Vaiśeṣika who desires the self as the basis, Saying 'all-knowing' but not knowing themselves. Therefore, they will be deceived, the path to liberation is long. The Vaiśeṣika, the Sūtra, the Mantrika, and, The Yogin and the Madhyamaka, etc., Each accusing the other of faults and arguing. Not knowing the emptiness of appearance equal to space, They turn their backs on the co-emergent. Body, speech, and mind are like black oil in a clear lamp, The self-nature is co-emergent, clear like a self-illuminating lamp. The self-aware clarity pervades all beings, In an undifferentiated manner, it is the unborn nature. The mind clinging to 'I' generates various thoughts, In the essence, all kinds of appearances arise. Although it dwells in the darkness-like habitual patterns, The yogin who finds that very thing ignites the lamp. The meaning of the heart essence transcends the realm of concepts, Not manifestly clear, obscured by the power of memory. The path of non-conceptual certainty, the bliss of non-thought, Why is it impassable, its fruit appearing beyond the mind? From the treasury of the co-emergent mind, Appear the forms of pure and impure saṃsāra and nirvāṇa. Appearance is also one in the state of unborn, That very thing is unmoving, without the nature of names. It becomes the Mahāmudrā, the unchanging great bliss, Not relying on causes, its fruit transcends the mind. Mahāmudrā is the fruit of completion, It illustrates the meaning of the path of names and joins them. Without expresser and expressed, it is the meaning of the heart essence, The expressed of all is the realm of non-thought awareness. Although realization differs by the knowledge of faith, In this non-thought, there is a false existence. Although the fruits are separate by the effort of the path, In this thought, there is a true existence. Although hope and despair differ by the power of equanimity, In this unborn, there is a dual existence. Although names of what to do and not to do are placed in the mind, In wisdom, there is a discriminating existence.

Here, one should diligently seek, but due to the causes of appearances, memories arise, Yet, the emptiness without memory does not transcend conditions. The meaning of non-thought is free from action, and there is nothing to see. If one clings to oneself and seeks, is it not a great mistake? Alas! The view like a vajra is truly difficult to realize. If one does not know and toils in vain, the mind follows after sounds, Then it is difficult to encounter the meaning of non-action. If one knows that the nature of action is non-action, Then the intention of the Victorious Ones is uniquely beyond realms. The body is unchanging, and the nature of reality is empty. It does not abide in the body, free from action and agency. If one uses the path to lead to the path, one will not see the result. In the nature of non-arising, there is no separation, which is the mind of the Victorious Ones. In the nature of non-memory, equanimity is great bliss. Great bliss without thought constantly abides in oneself. Without directing the mind, appearances are self-liberated. The memory of conditions is unceasing, and wisdom is clear. Like a lotus that grows from one root without fault. It dwells together with all sentient beings from birth. Although it is defiled by the power of the wrong view of otherness, Yet, it is like the original lotus flower. The power of good seeing, the great seal is unshakable. Although it is defiled by the impurity of grasping and being grasped, Yet, the three times are unchanging, and the root is the great self. Like the wind of consciousness and the mantras of the lower gate, etc., It is originally free from elaboration, free from taking and leaving self and other. It does not think of samsara, and does not depend on nirvana. The three times and three realms are all gathered in body, speech, and mind. In what does one not strive, without the view of taking and rejecting. Without beginning or middle, it is the straight path of the Middle Way. Free from fabrication, it is the supreme path of the mind. Entering and proceeding in stages, etc., is the path of crossing to the other shore. If one abandons the near path, it becomes the cause of long-term samsara. Co-emergent wisdom has no antidote or rival. In that one alone, there are four bodies and five wisdoms. Afflictions and the like are the path of samsara. Whatever arises in the realm, do not cling to it, see the realm-less. In the essence, there is no joy or displeasure. Grasping and conceptualization, without fabrication, is the Dharmakaya. The sense faculties are self-liberated, not abiding in emptiness. Unspeakable, the experience is continuous. Apply it to your own continuum and know it. In the meaning of stainlessness, there is the Great Seal. Experiences like the ocean and the sky arise. The sense faculties are free from objects, without the precipice of falling. You are attached because you are held by memory, so attachment arises. If you abide in yourself, then elaboration will return and cease. If there is no arising or ceasing, then the darkness of discrimination will vanish. The nature of reality is of one taste, like a bee to a flower. Faults and virtues are equally the same. It is very rare, the experience cannot be spoken. The truth is inseparable, like water being placed. Co-emergent wisdom. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
