Great assembly of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, With compassion, consider the helpless beings, Please dispel the five obstacles to rain, And swiftly send down a continuous great rain. Bless all beings to have happiness and joy. Brahma, Indra, the Four Great Kings, and others, Especially the hosts who protect the world, Glorious great powerful Nāga kings, As the Buddha taught, we invite you here today. Riding on vehicles of piled-up great clouds, Possessing various forms, with jeweled crowns, Emitting profound sounds of thunder, with flashes of lightning, For the sake of sending down a good stream of precious rain, With compassionate hearts, please come to this place. Nāga kings with endless retinues, clouds like the ocean, The glory of the mandala, the king like an umbrella. Nanda (欢喜), Upananda (近喜), Sagara (海), Glorious, Varuna (伐楼那) and Dhritarashtra (东方持国天), Anavatapta (阿那婆达多) and Vasudeva (婆苏提婆), The sons who give and protect the earth, and Nuta-la, Glorious splendor, Glorious Good, garland of lightning, With jewels on their crowns, luminous, with topknots, And those who hold jewels on their crowns, and others, Nāga kings with their retinues, please come to this place. We respectfully offer, praise, and prostrate. By the truth of the Buddha, we urge the Nāgas, Remember the power of the Three Jewels. Nāga kings, Bodhisattvas, all of you, Please send down a great stream of rain in this Jambudvipa. Make the plants, crops, and fruits flourish. The lords of Jambudvipa, the Eight Classes with their retinues, And the gods, Nāgas, and earth lords residing in this region, We offer clouds of incense that fulfill all desires. May you be pleased and satisfied, and have loving-kindness. Tathāgatas with the ten powers, together with their sons, In the clear path of sight, as if directly visible, We respectfully prostrate and confess our non-virtuous deeds. Have compassion for all suffering beings, At this time, remember your powerful vows. By the truth of the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, The power of the heart mantra (Snying-po sngags，种子字，bīja-mantra，比加-曼陀罗，seed mantra) and mudrā (phyag-rgya， मुद्रा，mudrā，穆扎，seal), And the blessings of emptiness and profound dependent arising, We now urge the Nāga kings and their retinues, Great clouds spreading throughout the sky, Like mountains piled up with blue jewels. With beautiful red lightning as belts, With pleasing sounds of thunder, A stream of rain that brings wonderful joy and happiness, Please cause it to pour down inexhaustibly, fulfilling all desires. May the plants and herbs be endowed with potency, and may the splendor, resources, and wealth of the environment and beings increase. May the gods in the sky abide with loving hearts, and may the nāgas in the intermediate space be busy with joyful dances. May the people on earth utter sounds of joy, and may auspicious signs be seen swiftly. May disease, famine, and war be pacified in the world, and may joy and happiness pervade like the golden age. This was written by Mipham Jampal Gyepe (藏文：མི་ཕམ་འཇམ་དཔལ་དགྱེས་པ།) on the seventeenth day of the fourth month of the inexhaustible increasing month, during a time of drought in previous years, summarizing the essence of the Great Cloud Sutra (梵文：Ārya-megha-sūtra) with a compassionate heart. At that time, pleasing clouds covered all directions, and a good stream of rain fell, and various auspicious signs became objects of sensory experience, so it was very auspicious and accomplished.
