Regarding the prayer offerings to the Twelve Steadfast Mothers who protect Tibet, these are notes extracted from the writings of Chos dbang and Ngari Panchen Rinpoche, as well as from the accomplishment method: In special times, in a secluded place, if there are images of the yidam and these (Steadfast Mothers), they should be displayed. In front of them, set up the altar as appropriate. On a field or animal skin, place piles of white rice equal to the number of deities, with a torma (gtor ma) of a subjugating yidam such as Guru Zhitrag (gu ru zhi drag) in the center, adorned with arrow banners. In front of that, place a lotus-shaped pile of food offerings, or twelve round tables adorned with various delicious foods. To the right, place medicine offerings; to the left, rakta (blood offering). In porcelain or silver bowls, place offerings of roasted barley flour, butter, drinks, grains, and decorations of gold and turquoise. White drinks include milk, yogurt, and various medicines; sweet drinks include honey wine and brown sugar. Also, the five sensual offerings, clouds of incense from medicinal woods and white sandalwood, etc. Arrow banners and various objects for viewing, as well as necessary utensils, should be prepared. First, perform the self-generation yoga of the subjugating deity, including recitation, and bless the offerings, especially sprinkling the torma and medicine offerings.
