Associating with bad companions leads to the deterioration of samaya (vows). Flattering others results in incidental deterioration. Various undesirable punishments will occur in this life. Sudden fears take life, and one falls into the Avici Hell. As long as space exists, one will experience unbearable suffering, accumulating negative karma. All of these, I confess with intense remorse. All dharmas are primordially pure like space. Spontaneously accomplished, luminous, without distinction, and all-pervasive. Due to deluded thoughts and fabrications, they are divided into directions and boundaries. Without realizing the true nature, one clings to verbal views. Acting carelessly and haphazardly burns one's own being. The path to liberation is cut off, and the sprout of great enlightenment withers. All those that have become the cause of suffering in all lifetimes, I confess from the depths of my heart with intense remorse. In short, having entered the gate of the supreme secret mantra, And having properly received the secret vows, One is controlled by ignorance, laziness, and afflictions, Transgressing the guru's commands and offering little service. Upsetting vajra siblings and falling into wrong views. Neglecting the practice and samadhi of the yidam deity. Revealing the secrets of the dakinis and breaking the tsokhor (gathering). Not propitiating the oath-bound protectors and engaging in wrong actions. Mixing deteriorated samaya with practice, and so on. Whether consciously or unconsciously, through body, speech, and mind, All actions that violate the samaya in root and branch, I confess and reveal with intense remorse. May I be granted the supreme accomplishment of pure Brahma. The three—what is to be protected, the act of protecting, and the mind of protecting—, Are primordially unfindable, the suchness of dharmadhatu. Deterioration and the result of deterioration, from the very beginning, Are unborn and unarisen, the expanse of Samantabhadra's realization. In the great primordial protection of self-awareness and luminosity, Without abandoning deterioration and obscurations of thought, they are liberated in their own place. May the two siddhis (accomplishments) be attained in this life. Through the power of my stainless confession, In the fields of the ten directions, all who have entered the gate of secret mantra, May all the deteriorations of yogis be restored, And may they traverse the vajra ground and path without difficulty. May the two benefits of self and others be spontaneously accomplished. May there be auspiciousness, glory, and prosperity in this life, May the Three Roots and oath-bound ones be pleased and regard me as their child. May all wishes be effortlessly accomplished in accordance with the Dharma. May all kingdoms be filled with happiness and the Dharma flourish. May the teachings of the Buddhas flourish and spread, May all the wishes of the upholders of the teachings be fulfilled. May all obstacles of all beings be pacified, And may all perfections be attained as desired. This is a compilation of verses summarizing the meaning of the tantras of both old and new secret mantras, confessing the faults and transgressions of the vajrayana samaya. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -38-7b
