One needs to be able to abide in stillness, abide in the view of non-duality, abide in undistracted meditation, and abide in unattached conduct—possessing these six qualities. This was written by Karma Lungrik Yarpen's Miju Tokhen Ratna. The Quintessential Practice of the Instruction Section: A Lamp of Clear Illumination The Quintessential Practice of the Instruction Section: A Lamp of Clear Illumination. Namo Guru Maha Nidhipadaya! Regarding the quintessential practice of the Instruction Section, the determination of how the four visions of Kadak (Tibetan: ཀ་དག, Primordial Purity), Trekchö (Tibetan: ཁྲེགས་ཆོད, Cutting Through), and Tögal (Tibetan: ཐོད་རྒལ, Direct Crossing) arise. Relying on the meaning instructions and introductions of both the Mind Section and the Space Section, one perfects the skill of meditating on the state of Kadak and Trekchö. In order to enhance the special qualities of the Instruction Section and practice Tögal, first, the determination of the lamps: First, upon the body of Vajra to be purified, the right channel Roma (Tibetan: རོ་མ་) is the wisdom of bliss, the left channel Kyangma (Tibetan: རྐྱང་མ་) is the wisdom of clarity, and the central channel Awadhuti (Tibetan: ཨ་ཝ་དྷཱུ་ཏི་) is the support for the arising of non-conceptual wisdom. The lamp of Citta Shayi (Tibetan: ཙིཏྟ་ཤ་ཡི་སྒྲོན་མ), the lamp of the white, soft channels residing therein, the Kati crystal tube (Tibetan: ཀ་ཏི་ཤེལ་གྱི་སྦུ་གུ), and the lamp of the Gyangzhak water (Tibetan: རྒྱང་ཞགས་ཆུའི་སྒྲོན་མ་) are the three inner lamps. The lamp of the pure realm of space (Tibetan: དབྱིངས་རྣམ་དག་གི་སྒྲོན་མ), the lamp of the empty thigle (Tibetan: ཐིག་ལེ་སྟོང་པའི་སྒྲོན་མ), and the lamp of self-arisen wisdom (Tibetan: ཤེས་རབ་རང་བྱུང་གི་སྒྲོན་མ་) are the three outer lamps. The combination of the inner and outer makes six lamps. If divided according to Gyangzhak, there are three: the Gyangzhak of the aggregation of the elements is the support of the eye faculty, the Gyangzhak of the aggregation of the faculties is the faculty consciousness, and the Gyangzhak of the aggregation of wisdom is the door of the clear light channel. If divided into nine, the lamp of the Bardo period is the way the Bardo arises, the lamp of the ultimate result is the Kaya and wisdom, and these two arise naturally. The lamp of the abiding ground is the wisdom that pervades all, where the ground, path, and result are inseparable, making nine. If condensed into four: the lamp of self-arisen wisdom, the lamp of Gyangzhak water, the lamp of the pure realm of space, and the lamp of the empty thigle, making four. As Je Sherab Özer said: 'In the realm of the lamp of self-arisen wisdom, the lamp of Gyangzhak opens the door of awareness, the lamp of pure space adorns with various ornaments, and the lamp of the empty thigle manifests the mandala of peaceful and wrathful deities.' That is how it is. The method of practicing these meanings requires mastering the essential points of three postures and three ways of looking: As the text says: 'Like a lion, an elephant, and an upright person, the ways of looking are sideways and downwards.' First, cross the hands and place them between the legs, the eyes... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Secondly, look straight up. In the manner of the Dharmakaya lion, completely purify in the realm of emptiness. Second, the elephant posture is: four limbs on the ground, hands supporting the cheeks, lifting the chin, eyes squinting. In the manner of the Sambhogakaya elephant's gaze, practice in the energy of self-luminous bindus (Tibetan: ཐིག་ལེ།). Third, the ascetic posture is: hands embracing the knees, squatting, body upright looking straight ahead. In the manner of the Nirmanakaya ascetic's gaze, practice in the energy of union wisdom. As mentioned above, practice energy through three postures and ways of looking. In addition, train the mind in a state of non-attachment by focusing on the sun, moon, butter lamps, sunlight reflected in a mirror, and vents, etc. Sometimes, turn your back to the sun and face the cloudless sky, practicing the instructions of the threefold sky. If practicing energy in the sunlight during the day harms the eyes, look at the moonlight for a long time at night. Make three small pills of zanba (roasted barley flour) rubbed with tears, bless them, recite the names of the Four Tathagatas (referring to Vairochana, Akshobhya, Ratnasambhava, and Amitabha), dedicate with sattva (Sanskrit: Sattva, goodness), generate Bodhicitta, and make aspirations. For those with the disposition of sudden breakthrough (Tibetan: ཐོད་རྒལ།), not much preparation is necessarily needed. However, the more stable the inner awareness, the more stable the outer appearances, so constant practice without distraction is very important. Regarding the way of appearances: When the Dharmata is directly seen, subtle bindus and rays of light will appear from the pure Dharmadhatu, but they will not last long. In the stage of increasing experience, the thought 'Are the five aggregates of bindus a Buddha image?' will arise. When awareness reaches maturity, the deity's form, such as eyes, nose, etc., will appear clearly. First, half-body images of Vajrasattva, etc., then full-body images. The Five Dhyani Buddhas, etc., and one's own Ishtadevata will appear and be very stable. In the appearance of the exhaustion of Dharmata, it is said that after all increase is complete, a white bindu the size of a pea will appear. The Great Treasure Revealer Lama said that the lines of the Seven Stacking of Naropa (Tibetan: ནཱ་རོ་བདུན་བརྩེགས།) will appear. The above-mentioned instructions on the threefold sky are: The instructions for mixing the three skies are: the outer sky is the sky of cloudless clear sky, the inner sky is the state of emptiness of one's own mind, the secret sky is the continuous luminosity of awareness. In the instructions of the threefold sky, focus awareness on the rays of light, gradually, the shaking will become stable and clear. Thus it is said. During these times, it is important to have the four measures. As it says in 'The Lamp that Illuminates': posture: the posture like the king of mountains, the measure of viewing. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
