Meditate in this way. Outside the eight great charnel grounds (Sanskrit: aṣṭa śmaśāna, eight terrifying places) within the protective circle, upon Mount Sumeru (Sanskrit: Sumeru, the center of the Buddhist cosmology): In the east, the Vehicle of Manifest Superiority of Gods and Humans (Tibetan: mngon mtho lha mi'i theg pa), the mandala of Vajrapāṇi who leads all beings out of the lower realms; in the south, the Action Tantra (Tibetan: bya rgyud), Akṣobhya; in the west, the Conduct Tantra (Tibetan: spyod rgyud), the emanation mandala of Śākyamuni Buddha; in the north, the Yoga Tantra (Tibetan: rnal 'byor rgyud), the fundamental mandala of Kunrig, all offered as guests. This is the condensed method; if practicing extensively, it should be meditated upon as in the visualization during the mantra recitation of the inner circle's yidam wrathful deities. The method of visualizing the Great Glorious One at the center of the heart essence mandala: From the right, in order, are the seats of the lion, tiger, leopard, bear, elephant, buffalo, makara (a sea monster in Indian mythology), and snake, the eight main animals. Upon them are the lotus, moon, and sun cushions. The Great Glorious Perfect King (Tibetan: dpal chen mngon rdzogs rgyal po) has a dark bluish-black body. The central seven faces are dark blue and wrathful, the seven faces on the right are white and smiling, and the seven faces on the left are red and lustful. Of the fundamental eight arms, the first two hold a curved knife and a skull cup, embracing the consort; the middle two arms, the right one lifts up the pure realm, and the left one lifts up the impure world; the last two arms hold the desire realm and the form realm abiding in bindus. Of the remaining ten middle arms, the five right arms hold a yellow square earth mandala, a white circular water mandala, a red triangular fire mandala, a green crescent-shaped wind mandala, and a dark blue triangular space mandala. The five left arms hold a vajra, a wheel, a jewel, a lotus, and a crossed vajra. Of the eighty hands of the limbs, the fifty right hands hold curved knives, and the fifty left hands hold skull cups filled with blood. Complete with splendor and charnel ground attire, with vajra-jewel wings spread to the right and left, seated in vajra posture. Embracing the consort, the Blessed Mother Vajravārāhī, with a dark bluish-black body, the central triple face is blue, the triple face on the right is white, and the triple face on the left is red. Of the eighteen arms, the nine right arms hold vajras, and the nine left arms hold blood-filled conch shells, uniting with the father. Her two feet are entwined around the father's waist in a lotus posture. Therefore, upon the eight-spoked wheel, on the seats of lotus, sun, and field, are the eight wrathful deities of the tantras and transmissions: In the east is Buddha Heruka, the father and mother are white and radiant, with three faces and six arms, the three right arms holding wheels; in the south is Ratna Heruka, the father and mother are yellow, the three right arms holding jewels; similarly, in the west is Padma Heruka, in the north is Karma Heruka, holding a crossed vajra; the wrathful deities of the four corners according to the oral transmissions as in the 'Collection of Kadampa Teachings' (Tibetan: bka' 'dus): In the southeast is Raksha, in the southwest is Sanu, in the northwest is Guhya, and in the northeast is Yaksha. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
