Rinchen TerdzodTD2486: Chapter on the Practice and Empowerment of 'Sharp Inner Severance,' the Yama-Repelling Razor of Yamantaka-Manjushri. 61-19-1a ༄༅། །Chapter on the Practice and Empowerment of 'Sharp Inner Severance,' the Yama-Repelling Razor of Yamantaka-Manjushri. ཨཱོྃ་སྭསྟི། Homage! To that embodiment, the unified wisdom of all Buddhas, Manjushri Vajra Wrathful Form! Having paid homage, I will explain the ritual of practice and empowerment. Here, the 'Sharp Inner Severance' empowerment associated with the practice of Yamantaka-Manjushri, the Yama-Repelling Razor, has three parts: preparation and arrangement of implements, the actual method of practice, and the empowerment ritual. First, the arrangement of implements: Arrange a heap of grains on a covered platform. In the center, place a torma (ritual cake) in the shape of a skeleton diagram with four wheels on a mandala, adorned with a body image tsakli (a small painting or sculpture) and a black arrow banner. Around it, place two water offerings, preliminary offerings, medicine alcohol, a torma for subduing the base obstacles, and other necessary implements. Second, the method of practice: Begin with the preliminary practices of offering the torma, taking refuge, generating bodhicitta, and blessing the offerings. ཨཱོྃ་སྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷཿསརྦ་དྷརྨཱཿསྭ་བྷཱ་ཝ་ཤུདྡྷོ྅་ཧཾ། (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ svabhāva śuddhāḥ sarva dharmāḥ svabhāva śuddho 'haṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Om, the nature is pure, all dharmas, the nature is pure, I.) Meditate on all phenomena as emptiness; this is the samadhi of suchness. དྷརྨ་དྷཱ་ཏུ་ཨ། (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization: Dharmadhātu āḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: Realm of Dharma, Ah.) This is the samadhi of great compassion, universally appearing. བོ་དྷི་ཙིཏྟ་ཧཱུྃ། (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization: Bodhicitta hūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Bodhicitta, Hum.) One's own awareness is a blazing dark blue Hūṃ syllable; this is the samadhi of the cause. From the Hūṃ, emanate ཨེ་ཡཾ་རཾ་བཾ་ལཾ་ (Tibetan), and on top of the mandala of space, wind, fire, water, and earth, from བྷྲཱུྃ་ (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization: bhrūṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: Seed syllable) arises a vase in the form of a great enlightenment stupa, inside which is the center of various vajras. 61-19-1b Above Yamātira vaṃ (Mother of Yama), that is, above the male and female Lord of Death Yama and the male and female buffalo and bull, are seats of lotus, sun, and moon. From the Hūṃ arises a vajra marked with the Hūṃ, completely transformed. Visualize oneself as Yamantaka-Manjushri, with a body of dark blue, white, blue, and red, with three faces and six arms, uttering the sound of आः रल्लिः (Tibetan). The three right hands hold a wheel, a sword, and a vajra; the three left hands hold an iron hook, a wooden stake, and a threatening mudra. Dancing with nine gestures, adorned with the eight charnel ground garments. With four legs, the left extended, residing in the midst of blazing wisdom fire. At his heart is a golden four-spoked wheel, with four peaceful Manjushris facing inward, protecting. At the time of repelling, the wrathful one is dark red, holding a sword and a lasso, facing outward, performing the action of repelling. In the center of the wheel --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
