Rinchen TerdzodTD2473: A chapter on how to commonly practice the Nyingma tradition's Wrathful Guru Peaceful and Wrathful Collection, and the wrathful practices of Dorje Lingpa (Vajra Island) and Pema Lingpa (Lotus Island). 61-6-1a ༄༅། །A chapter on how to commonly practice the Nyingma tradition's Wrathful Guru Peaceful and Wrathful Collection, and the wrathful practices of Dorje Lingpa (Vajra Island) and Pema Lingpa (Lotus Island). ཨཱོྃ་སྭསྟི། The wisdom body of all Buddhas. Appearing in wrathful dance to beings difficult to tame. I prostrate to the Great Glorious Heruka. Now I will explain the heart essence of his practice. Here, practicing the Lama Drakpo (Wrathful Guru), connected with the great 'Peaceful and Wrathful Gathering,' there are three ways of empowerment: the arrangement of preparatory materials, the actual method of practice, and the ritual of empowerment. First, the arrangement of materials: On the altar, place a complete mandala, with a common central element consisting of a dharma source with three levels (dharma origin, moon, triangle) and four pillars, surrounded by a garland of skulls. In its center, place a vase filled with essence and complete with accessories on a low table. Also, there is a skull cup of nectar, a vajra and bell, individual deity body 'tsaklis' (painted representations), along with supporting substances. Empowerment torma, outer offerings of five, inner offerings, medicine torma, rakta (blood offering), blindfold, flowers, and all other necessary materials are arranged completely. Second, in the method of practice, the preliminary is: dispelling obstacles, establishing boundaries, refuge in the root guru of the lineage, the yidam deity who is the source of accomplishment, the dakini who bestows blessings, I take refuge in the Three Roots. For the sake of benefiting myself and others, I will accomplish all the wrathful Krodha Rajas (Wrathful Kings), attain the supreme heart essence, and generate the mind to benefit others. By reciting this, take refuge 61-6-1b and generate bodhicitta, and perform the seven-branch practice as a preliminary. The main practice: Dissolving the field of merit into oneself, the ordinary body is purified into light, dissolving into a red, blazing Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,Sanskrit: hūṃ, hūṃ, seed syllable). From this Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,Sanskrit: hūṃ, hūṃ, seed syllable) rays of light emanate, accomplishing the two benefits, and dissolve into the Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,Sanskrit: hūṃ, hūṃ, seed syllable). From this, the syllables ཨེ་ཡཾ་རཾ་ར་སུཾ་ཀེཾ་བྷྲཱུྃ་ (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari unknown, Sanskrit Romanization unknown, Chinese literal meaning unknown) arise, from which arise the sky, wind, fire, ocean of blood, and a Mount Meru made of stacked bones. Above this, in a square mansion with four doors and horse-head projections, formed from a burning bhanda (བྷནྡྷ,Sanskrit: bhaṇḍa, bhaṇḍa, container), which is immeasurably vast, surrounded externally by a golden wheel and a wheel of fire rotating in an intersecting manner, from the tips of the spokes emanate emanation messengers. In the center of the vajra tent and blazing fire of wisdom, on a lotus born from paṃ (པཾ,Sanskrit: paṃ, paṃ, lotus seed syllable) and a sun born from raṃ (རཾ,Sanskrit: raṃ, raṃ, fire seed syllable), there is a seat formed by the crossed arrogant Eight Classes. Above this, from the syllable Hūṃ (ཧཱུྃ,Sanskrit: hūṃ, hūṃ, seed syllable) arises oneself as the subjugating Lotus Wrathful One, with a body color of dark red, one face and two arms, with an open mouth and bared fangs, three eyes gazing in anger, eyebrows and beard blazing. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
