Auspicious. ༄༅། །From Lama Gongpa Duspa: The Lamp of Auspicious Prayers. Lama Gongpa Duspa. Auspicious. ༁ྃ༔ From Lama Gongpa Duspa: The Lamp of Auspicious Prayers. Namo Guru Deva Dakini Hum (nama guru deva ḍākinī hūṃ). The fifth general meaning is called 'The Lamp of Auspicious Prayers.' This is a prayer and auspicious proclamation that protects from all faults and increases auspiciousness, well-being, qualities, and perfect endowments. Whatever one does, whether great, medium, or small, good or bad, that very yogi who first recites this will, in an instant, see himself on a vast and spacious precious throne supported by eight lions, upon which is a cushion of silk, sun, moon, and lotus. The Teacher, the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly and Fully Awakened Buddha, the glorious Shakyamuni (Śākyamuni), whose body color is like molten gold, with his right hand in the earth-touching mudra and his left hand in the meditation mudra, adorned with the thirty-two major marks and eighty minor signs, abiding in the form of a nirmanakaya. To his right stands Shariputra (Śāriputra), and to his left stands Maudgalyayana (Maudgalyāyana), both holding a staff and a begging bowl, also in the form of a nirmanakaya. Thus, the main figure and the two attendants are surrounded by all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the ten directions. In the space in front, the thousand Buddhas of the Fortunate Aeon and the two Bodhisattvas, as well as the ocean of gurus, yidams, dakinis, and oath-bound protectors, and the gods and sages of the world and beyond, who have power over prayers and have realized the truth, are all gathered around. Merely by reciting the words of the auspicious prayer, all of them will also recite in unison, removing all faults, increasing all qualities of well-being, and showering down a rain of flowers. Think like that. Namo Buddhaya (namo buddhāya). Namo Dharmaya (namo dharmāya). Namo Sanghaya (namo saṃghāya). Namo Guru be (namo guru be). Namo Deva Shantika (namo deva śāntika).
