Through introduction, all phenomena appearing as forms, such as the five objects (the five external objects perceived by the five senses, namely form, sound, smell, taste, and touch) and the five senses (eye, ear, nose, tongue, and body), as well as colors, are understood to be inseparable from appearance and emptiness. Furthermore, in the bardo state, all terrifying appearances, such as the terrifying forms of wrathful deities, and the rain of light like swords falling, all these terrifying appearances are liberated in the realm of self-appearing emptiness, thereby attaining complete enlightenment in the bardo state. Please integrate this into your mindstream. Shake the bell or strike the drum. Hūṃ! All Buddhas of the three times, the inexhaustible adornment wheel of speech, the power of speech is transmitted with a resounding voice, introducing the union of sound and emptiness.’ Through this, the inexhaustible adornment wheel of speech of all Buddhas of the three times is the inseparability of sound and emptiness, transcending words and letters. This is introduced by relying on the sound of the bell or drum. As stated in the Uttaratantra: ‘The speech of the Buddhas is like a rock echo, without letters.’ And as stated in the Mayajala Tantra: ‘True selflessness is suchness, true limit is without letters, the supreme group of emptiness speakers, profound and vast sound resounds.’ And as stated in the Lion's Roar Completion Tantra: ‘The nature of speech, sound is emptiness.’ Thus, from the state of emptiness without characteristics, like the sky, the Dharma corresponding to sound and emptiness is spoken profoundly and extensively with sixty branches, as stated in the Stainless Light Sutra: ‘Speech is the desireless wisdom, pure mantra inexhaustible sound.’ Like this, although it arises from the power of merit of completing vast virtuous causes and the aggregation of the minds of those to be tamed, because it is free from conceptual thought, it does not abide anywhere, it is emptiness. As stated in the Uttaratantra: ‘Like the sound of an echo, arising from the mind of another, without discrimination and without fabrication, so is the speech of the Tathagata, arising from the mind of another, without discrimination and without fabrication, it does not abide inside or outside.’ Then, where do the words of the Dharma come from? The Sutra says: ‘Like the sound of a rock echo, the words of the Dharma arise from this.’ Therefore, the nature of speech does not arise from any place, does not abide in any place, and does not go to any place. As stated in the Noble Eight Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita Sutra: ‘Son of good family, for example, the sound of a lute, when it arises, does not come from anywhere, and when it ceases, it does not go to anywhere, it does not move to anywhere, but arises dependent on causes and conditions, dependent on cause, dependent on conditions. For example, dependent on the body of the lute, dependent on the skin, dependent on the strings.’ --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Depending on the (lute's) belly, depending on the (lute's) skin, depending on the (lute's) strings, depending on the (lute's) wood, depending on the (lute's) string support, and depending on the effort arising from the person, the sound arises from the lute. However, the sound does not arise solely from the lute's belly, nor solely from the skin, nor solely from the strings, nor solely from the wood, nor solely from the string support, nor solely from the effort arising from the person. Rather, when all these are gathered together, the sound resounds. And when the sound ceases, it does not go anywhere. Likewise, son of good family, you should understand the nature of all dharmas in this way. Son of good family, the complete accomplishment of the sound of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, also depends on causes, depends on the complete accomplishment of many roots of virtue, not on a single cause, nor on a single condition. Not a single root of virtue accomplishes the supreme distinction of the Buddha, but it is also not without cause. It arises from the assembly of many causes and conditions, but in reality, it does not come from anywhere. Likewise, apply this also to the wood of the drum, the skin, and the effort of the hand beating the drum. If it is a bell, it should also be understood in this way. Having understood in this way, one knows that the voice of the Victorious Ones, the sound of the four elements, and the languages of the six classes of beings are all appearances and emptiness. In the bardo, when the self-sound of the dharmata resounds, one is liberated from it, and this should be applied to the continuum. Light the lamp, Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཧཱུྃ༔, Sanskrit Devanagari: हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: hūṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Seed Syllable). 'The inexhaustible adornment wheel of the mind of all Buddhas of the three times, empower the mind with the essence of the lamp, introduce the union of clarity and emptiness.' Through these words, the mind of all Sugatas is clear, bright, and free from defilement, having destroyed the darkness of ignorance, the self-light of wisdom abides as self-luminous from the beginning. Clear and without conceptualization, like a lamp, therefore understand this meaning. Furthermore, in 'The Wrathful Vajra Ladder' it says: 'This lamp, clear and radiant, possesses the five wisdoms and five lights, the five fathers and five mothers, and the mandala of the self-nature of wisdom. Inseparable from the meaning of the vajra, the power of unchanging splendorous awareness, the supreme light of the wisdom of power, and the light abiding in one's own heart. I have shown it, you should draw near.' The wisdom of awareness, without waxing or waning, like a lamp unmoved by the wind, the self-light of wisdom is inherently present, this is called the Bodhicitta, the inseparability of clarity and emptiness, it is the true wisdom of all the Victorious Ones. Why is it called Bodhicitta? In 'The Summary of Empowerment' it says: 'Emptiness and compassion are inseparable, Bodhi.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
