Rinchen Terdzod (The Treasury of Precious Termas) TD2404, from 'The Guru's Heart Practice: Dispelling All Obstacles': A Guide to the Completion Stage of the Vidyadhara Padmasambhava, the Great Perfection of Luminosity, called 'Essence of Refined Gold'. Chokling Dzogchen. Namo Guru Padmākarāya, the great vehicle of effortless certainty, the Vajra lineage with six liberations, the one who proclaims the Dharma nature's own sound, I bow to the feet of Kunsang Padma. Using direct perception as the path, in one lifetime striving for the original place of liberation, the essence of the ocean of guidance is to unlock the fundamental intention. The supreme path of all Buddhas, the pinnacle of the nine vehicles, the guidance of the Great Perfection of Luminosity, the one who explains must possess empowerment and samaya, and the realization of Trekchö and Tögal; the student who is taught must possess faith, diligence, and wisdom, sever the attachments of this life, and practice according to the Guru's instructions; the place must be naturally virtuous, secluded, and free from obstacles to meditation; the time must be when the teacher and student have gathered in auspicious circumstances, or when the temperature is moderate and wisdom easily arises; the companions must have pure samaya, pure perception, and loving-kindness; the conducive conditions must be complete with resources, so that they can diligently engage in teaching, listening, and practice, as stated in the 'Great Perfection of Self-Arisen Wisdom Tantra'. The profound oral instruction guidance that is taught is actually divided into three parts: First, explaining the intention of what should be practiced; second, explaining the practical guidance on how to practice; and third, elucidating the manner of liberation through such practice. The first part: The root Vajra words say: 'The ultimate and supreme completion stage is the ground of being, primordially pure, unconditioned; the ground appearance spontaneously accomplished, appears as the path; inseparable manifestation, ripens as the fruit; this is the intention of the Great Perfection of Luminosity.' As it is said, the common ground of samsara and nirvana is the nature of the Dharmadhatu, primordially pure and unconditioned, from which the self-display of self-awareness arises, manifesting in eight ways as the ground appearance of spontaneous accomplishment, and from the power of great compassion, manifesting as various path appearances of samsara and nirvana. The difference between liberation and delusion arises from whether or not one realizes one's own self-display. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When, through the blessing of the lama and the profound instructions, the basis of primordial purity (ka dag, Sanskrit: ādisuddha, Romanized Sanskrit: ādisuddha, Literal meaning: original purity) and the basis of spontaneous presence (lhun grub) are realized as being non-dual, delusion subsides, and appearances are exhausted into the nature of reality, maturing into the fruit of twofold purity in the state of original liberation. This is the single intent of the sixty-four hundred thousand tantras of the Great Perfection of Luminosity ('od gsal rdzogs pa chen po). The second part has two sections: first, the preliminary practice of purifying one's own mind-stream, and then the actual practice of taking it to heart. First, the preliminary practice has two aspects: the common and the uncommon. Regarding the common preliminaries, it is said in 'Instructions on What Follows': 'Train in impermanence, compassion, and bodhicitta.' This indicates that the root of the Mahayana path is the precious bodhicitta, which has two aspects. To generate it in one's mind-stream, one must first train the mind in the way that outer environment, inner beings, and one's own body quickly decay and are impermanent. Based on this, contemplate the difficulty of obtaining a human body with leisure and opportunity, the infallibility of karma, and the long and heavy suffering of samsara and the lower realms that will be experienced after death, thereby generating revulsion towards apparent pleasures that have no essence. With the strong force of renunciation, resolving to definitely escape from all worldly prosperity, take refuge in the Three Jewels from this moment until enlightenment is attained, entrusting oneself with an attitude of complete abandonment. Generate the mind of enlightenment with the cause of relative aspiration and action, and train the mind in the result of ultimate bodhicitta. Purify obstacles to the arising of experience and realization—sins and obscurations—by striving in the meditation and recitation of Vajrasattva (རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས་དཔའ, Sanskrit: वज्रसत्त्व, Romanized Sanskrit: vajrasattva, Literal meaning: diamond being) with the complete four powers. Accumulate conducive conditions—the two accumulations of merit and wisdom—by offering outer, inner, and secret mandalas. In order to forcefully bring about blessings, make the guru yoga and supplication the main focus of practice with the strong force of genuine devotion. If one wishes to precede it with the generation stage practice in accordance with the general system of unsurpassed yoga, since many elaborate distractions are not needed at this time, one can recite the Essence of the Lotus Sutra (padma'i snying po'i rgyud), which is the support or core of the six wondrous dharmas that possess self-arisen yoga. How to practice these can be understood from the writings of Omniscient Lama Dorje Ziji Tsal (rdo rje gzi brjid rtsal). At this time or from the very beginning, one should receive the uncommon ripening empowerments of the two stages of this practice, namely the blessings of body, speech, and mind, and the empowerments of the twenty ways of attaining enlightenment, whether elaborate or concise. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
