When (Padmasambhava) was residing in Danla, bestowing the empowerments of the entire Mother Tantra, Dakini Yeshe Tsogyal inquired about the well-being of the Great Mother and asked: 'O Chief Mother and all Dakinis, have you come to request the commands and instructions of the Dakini?' She replied: 'That is so.' The Chief Mother said: 'You are the emanation of my body, speech, and mind, therefore I will bestow the instructions of the entire Mother Tantra. In particular, this instruction of the Mother Tantra, the Secret Path of the Dakinis, you, the fortunate Dakini of the Mother lineage, should partake of. The heart's blood of the Dakinis is like meatballs in soup, you should consume it.' Having said this, she bestowed the instructions. Then, Dakini Yeshe asked: 'O Chief Mother, please listen. The people of our snowy Tibet have short lives and great wrong views, little perseverance and dull minds, little trust and evil thoughts. For such ignorant people, is there a Dharma that is easy to understand and quick to accomplish, that allows one to attain Buddhahood without meditation?' Vajravarahi and all the Dakinis replied: 'The most secret of all Dakinis, called the Secret Path, is in reality the red essence of all Dakinis' minds, like meatballs in soup, and is suitable to be given to you, Dakini.' 'A king can attain Buddhahood without abandoning his kingdom, a consort can attain Buddhahood without abandoning her service, a man can attain Buddhahood without abandoning his sexual partner, a woman can attain Buddhahood without abandoning her household, a monk can attain Buddhahood without keeping the monastic vows, a mantra practitioner can attain Buddhahood without keeping the samaya, one can attain Buddhahood without abandoning the Chief Mother's wishes, even a great sinner can forcefully attain Buddhahood, one can attain Buddhahood without abandoning medicine and food, a child can attain Buddhahood without abandoning play.' 'This instruction is a Dharma that is in accordance with the prophecies of Oddiyana (Padmasambhava's pure land), and now in this time of the Good Kalpa, the teachings of Oddiyana and the instructions of the Father Tantra of Mahamudra are sufficient.' 'Although there is time for practice, this most secret instruction of the Dakinis is the essence of the degenerate age, in the time of the five degenerations, when Buddhist colleges and meditation centers decline, the true Dharma is not taught, and the country is filled with deceit, for all the previous instructions, some people add content, some people reduce content, and many alterations are made to the instructions, causing the lineage masters and the heroes and Dakinis to be displeased, and the blessings disappear.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
