Da Bao Fu Zang TD2235, from the profound teachings on the life force of the Three Roots, the method of practicing the outer, inner, and secret aspects of Padmasambhava's Dakini, entitled 'A Cluster of Padma Ragha'. (Guru Rinpoche's) Empowerment of Padma Dakini, Sadhana Manual. Namo Guru Padma Dakiniye! I prostrate to the innate beauty who possesses the youthfulness of uncontaminated bliss! Next, I will explain the method of practicing her yoga, which comes from the Treasury of Space. In order to elucidate the profound instructions, continuous practice is crucial. To make meaningful the teachings bestowed with great compassion by the unparalleled treasure revealer (referring to Chokgyur Lingpa), I will clearly explain how to practice those instructions that are not hidden, and those that are revealed through direct or indirect means, dividing them into four parts: preliminary preparations, main practice, sharp guidance and protectors, and finally, the categories of activity rituals. First, the preliminaries include three aspects: the practitioner, the method of practice, and the preparation of practice items. First, regarding the practitioner, generally, one needs to have received the common and uncommon empowerments and blessings of the Three Roots (Guru, Yidam, Dakini), and in particular, this practice, abide by the vows, and have previously practiced the sadhana of the Three Roots. Regarding the vows for practicing this method, one needs to have precepts above the level of a lay devotee, especially to abstain from killing, diligently engage in virtuous deeds, and give the four means of gathering and the four types of generosity through objects or in mind. One must treat all women with respect, and especially not use a woman named 'Tara' as an assistant. Do not pick red-colored flowers, and in places where Tara resides, diligently engage in prostrations, offerings, and praises, etc., as described in the 'Distinction Sutra'. The key vow is that the practice of this method must not be known by anyone, and the practice items and preparations must not be seen by anyone. If one is a mantra practitioner, one must not associate with women during the practice, must strictly observe silence and restraint, and it is crucial not to be controlled by desire. Second, regarding the method of practice, it includes five aspects: motivation, time, place, companion, and conduct. First is the motivation: do not aim for one's own desires, or for trivial purposes. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Even when engaging in activities of power (dbang gi phrin las), due to the mind being controlled by appearances, the key is to lose oneself outwards, making it difficult to accomplish the activity. Even if it seems that some small things can be accomplished, the fruits of practicing the deity's mantra of wisdom are exhausted on trivial matters, which is like turning sandalwood into charcoal. Understand this principle. Do not be overly concerned with the success or failure of the activity, but diligently practice with the sole intention of cultivating Bodhicitta. Until you have obtained stability in the signs of warmth in practice, do not greedily pursue the accomplishment of activities. When the time comes to engage in activities, if it is not for the sake of the Guru or the Dharma, but for your own desires, then whatever you undertake will be quickly accomplished. These actions will also transform into accumulations for attaining Bodhi, and even if it is for your own benefit, it will be accomplished incidentally. However, nowadays, due to the influence of the times, people are captivated by the pursuit of wealth, controlling others, curses, etc., holding whatever they hear as precious jewels and making it the core of their virtuous practices. Let alone benefiting oneself and others, it seems difficult to even make a comfortable living by relying on these things. Therefore, do not let superficial virtuous actions exhaust your body, speech, and mind; this is the beginning of all important matters. Secondly, regarding the time: a particularly auspicious time is the eighth day of the middle spring month (dpyid zla 'bring po, the second month in the Tibetan calendar), or the eighth auspicious day (tshes brgyad rgyal 'dzom, the eighth day of each month in the Tibetan calendar). Furthermore, the day when all auspicious days gather is the most supreme. All eighth days that are primarily associated with the four 'ra' (ར་བ་བཞི་) are also said to be important times, so one should begin the practice on these days. Thirdly, regarding the place: the scriptures say to be in a place with red soil, sharp mountain rocks, or under a tree free from sorrow. If it is not possible to find a place that meets these conditions, one should first visualize oneself sitting at the base of a lush Ashoka tree (Sanskrit: Ashoka). The secret place should be learned from the Guru. Fourthly, regarding companions: in general, one should rely on someone who is compatible with one's mind, possesses signs of power, and can keep secrets. Special circumstances should be received from the Guru. Fifthly, regarding conduct: hats, clothes, cushions, etc., should be red. Draw a crescent-shaped tilaka (Sanskrit: tilaka, तिलक, तिलक, auspicious mark) on the forehead with the juice of madder (རྒྱ་སྐྱེགས་, rgya skyegs). Hold a intoxicating fruit called 'po so char' in the mouth, face west, and sit in the lotus position. These are what are said in the Indian scriptures. The key conduct should be learned from the Guru. Thirdly, preparing the materials for practice: first, if one can prepare the Thangka (dam tshig gi bris sku) of the Samaya according to what is said in the Tantras and oral instructions, it is very important, because it is the fundamental support for the outer, inner, and secret practices, so it should be placed in front, facing east. In front of the Thangka, place a red crescent-shaped mandala (dkyil). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
