Protect me with your vows! Aid me with your accomplishments! At this time, the gathering and dispersing of light rays should be performed, and the approach and accomplishment of whatever long or short essence mantra is appropriate should be practiced. Seventh, confession of sins: Hūṃ! I take refuge, whatever sins I have committed in the three times of past, present, and future, I confess and repent with a mind of self-reproach. Hereafter, I will abide in the conduct of guarding vows, may all karmic imprints be purified at this time. Because of my evil deeds, I have obtained an evil body, born in the abyss of the three realms of sin. My speech has committed evil deeds, uttering many lies. My mind has conceived wrong thoughts, arising from inverted views. Whatever sins I have committed due to such things, I confess to the assembly of deities in the mandala. Although the wisdom deities have no conceptual thoughts, I ask for forgiveness from the gods and spirits who belong to their retinue for any violations, errors, or deficiencies. If there is anything that goes against your wishes, please do not harm me. After confessing in this way, if the ritual is to be performed for a long time, it can be done in three or four sessions. Third, empowerment: When the practice has been accomplished, take the vase in hand. Meditative concentration: From the body, speech, and mind of the Vairochana (遍照如来) sixteen-deity mandala, white, red, and blue light rays emanate, purifying the defilements of body, speech, and mind, and completely accomplishing the empowerment of body, speech, and mind. Place the vase on the crown of the head. The meaning of the vase is: the nature of reality is without birth, the adornment of the mouth is the wish-fulfilling tree that produces all things, silk banners representing knowledge flutter on the neck, adorned with the four unchanging seals, made from various precious materials, immaculate and pure, it is the palace of the gods. Within are the five medicines, five grains, five essences, and five deities. The five bodies, five speeches, five minds, and five wisdoms. In the vase blessed by the five powers, extract the essence of nectar that is naturally pure, may it purify all karma and afflictive habitual tendencies. Oṃ Buddha Vairochana Oṃ! Vajra Vairochana Hūṃ! Ratna Vairochana Svāhā! Padma Vairochana Āḥ! Karma Vairochana Hā! Oṃ Buddha Kalaśa Abhiṣiñca Oṃ! Vajra Kalaśa Abhiṣiñca Hūṃ! Ratna Kalaśa Abhiṣiñca Svāhā! Bless body, speech, and mind, empower with the five wisdoms. And do likewise for others. Fourth, the bathing ritual: Visualize oneself as Vajrapani (金刚手), from the Hūṃ syllable at the heart, light rays emanate.

Such water, white and gleaming, at dawn when the sun rises, facing east, holding it in a precious copper basin, recite these words: 'Homage to those who have become guests of offering, all the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Shravakas, and Pratyekabuddhas who abide, please descend to bathe. Whatever auspiciousness the beneficial deities possess, may that sacred auspiciousness also descend today. Victory! Victory! May there be triumph!'
