Na Chenpo (the great Na) came to Tibet. During the construction of the Zan Yang Monastery, he spent seven days in Chimphu in a meditation to subdue the Nagas, and manifested as Vajra Garuda. King Trisong Detsen requested this practice. Considering that Tibet might be harmed by Naga demons in the future, he taught many Garuda practices and related rituals to benefit beings. The Nyingma (Ancient) tradition, brought by figures such as Lingpa, Mati Ratna, and Tagsham, as well as the new and old traditions of Chakrasamvara, Kalachakra, Naropa, and Jowo, all exist. Now, the empowerment to be bestowed comes from the terma (藏文：གཏེར་མ།，treasure) of tertön (藏文：གཏེར་སྟོན།，treasure revealer) Dudjom Rolpa Tsal, focusing on the Red Garuda, combined with the traditions of Mati Ratna and Tagsham, a union of three lineages. First, the teacher's preparations are done. You should also offer a mandala and repeat this supplication: 'Kye ho! Vajra Master, please listen! To relieve the Naga diseases of us beings in this degenerate age, please grant the supreme empowerment of Wrathful Garuda!' (Repeat three times) Then, perform confession with the eight branches. Visualize the field of merit and repeat the following: 'Vajra Master, Glory of the Buddha!' etc. Inviting the Wisdom Being: From emptiness, visualize the disciples instantly transforming into a red 'khroṃ' syllable, radiating light, cutting off all fierce Nagas, earth lords, and malicious beings. The light returns and dissolves into the 'khroṃ' syllable, and oneself transforms into a fire-red Garuda, with wings of turquoise, and a beak and claws made of meteoric iron. On the crown of the head is a wish-fulfilling jewel ornament, and the heads of the five Buddha families are swallowed inside. Flames emanate from the body, radiating in ten directions, making a 'dong dong' sound. Visualize all Nagas, fierce beings, and earth lords trembling with fear. Visualize five seed syllables at the five chakras, especially the seed syllable 'khroṃ' at the heart, radiating light. From the Buddhas of the ten directions, invite the blessings of wisdom, activity, and the immeasurable and countless Garudas of the world, dissolving into oneself. Visualize: 'Hūṃ! From the summit of Mount Meru formed by the five elements, on the interwoven seat of earth lords, Nagas, and harm-doers, on the lotus, sun, and moon cushions, from the palace blazing with self-existing light, Wrathful King Garuda, who tames whatever is to be tamed, I invite you with devotion and samaya!'
