Combine the pills with the strength of the disease, such as five, seven, or nine. For hot diseases, take with cold water; for cold diseases, take with alcohol. Generally, take with warm boiled water. In this way, the power of the medicine and the blessings of the mantra combine, and the power of dependent origination that arises is inconceivable. By relying on the pill, even smelling the scent of the pill, generally, all diseases will be pacified, liberation from all demons, and the body's nourishment, life, and merit will increase. Whether temporary or ultimate, it is pervaded by the enlightened activities of the noble Great Compassionate One, liberation from the suffering of samsara and the lower realms, and has immeasurable benefits. Especially, it is very effective for blood, bile, phlegm, mixed disorders, new and old stomach diseases, epidemics, and new fevers, and it does not harm any other diseases, which has been verified. Relying solely on this pill, one can cure all diseases, and the lineage of Vidyadharas who hold this medical accomplishment has continued unbroken until now, so it should be trusted very much. The methods of administration for various diseases are detailed in the text. If a large amount of apple blossoms is added, it is called the White Lotus Pill, which is very effective for bile and phlegm. Thus, Guru Rinpoche personally offered the one medicine for one hundred diseases—the practice manual of the White Pill—to the glorious Siddha Thang Tong Gyalpo. Therefore, please engage in vast benefit for yourself and others with the motivation of Bodhicitta. The teacher and disciples together should perform extensive prayers and auspicious wishes. This is according to the tradition of Je Drubchenpo, regarding the practice manual of the White Pill, in the old documents, with the addition of clarifications for practice, accurately written by the learned yogi Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo. May this merit pacify all the suffering of diseases caused by causes and conditions for all beings pervading the sky, and may they quickly attain the state of the Great Physician who sees all. May all be auspicious! May all beings be free from harm from demons, diseases, and spirits, etc., caused by karma and sudden factors, and all diseases that make beings uncomfortable. May these diseases no longer occur in the world. Just as an executioner leads those to be executed, may the suffering of life-threatening diseases that separate body and mind in an instant no longer occur in the world. Just as falling into the mouth of the Lord of Death, Yama, may those who are terrified by merely hearing the name of the disease, such as one-day fevers and permanent fevers, no longer harm all beings. May the compassion of the Lama, the Three Jewels, the power of the Dakinis, Dharma Protectors, and Guardians, and The truthful power of the unfailing law of karma, fulfill all aspirations and prayers! This was when various types of non-identical epidemics occurred in the great Sakya Monastery, and no matter what the mantra practitioners and Bonpos did with mados, offerings, medicines, mantras, protections, etc., it was of no benefit, and the monastery was on the verge of becoming empty. At this time, Je Drubthob Chenpo (a great accomplished one) instructed to take refuge in Manam Makha Ma, recite the Mani, and obtain this prayer. By doing as he instructed, all the epidemics immediately ceased. Therefore, this is known as the 'Sakya Liberation from Plague Prayer,' and it is said to be a Vajra speech, a cloud of blessings emanating forth.
