The Great Treasure Trove TD1832: A Compilation of Essential Instructions for Benefiting Livestock. Various Protective Activities. Horse Cures. Homage to Arya Remanta! Herein is a compilation of essential and profound instructions for pacifying and protecting against various horse ailments through medicine, mantras, and other means. If a horse contracts rabies, it will develop diarrhea, point its muzzle towards the sky, and roll around. To remedy this, feed it vulture broth mixed with rock salt and musk. If a female horse suffers from uterine poisoning, it will lie down frequently, sweat profusely, its abdomen will swell, and it will search around like a dog. To remedy this, feed it a mixture of arura (诃子) and phabs (蓬莪术) in urine. Alternatively, feed it Suru Panca. If the fever is high, feed it two-thirds of starbu (酸石榴) and one-third of borax mixed in urine. If poisoned by the droppings of sre mong (旱獭) and te lo (狐狸), it will paw at the ground and pace back and forth. To remedy this, feed it rock salt and pig's blood. If poisoned by bird droppings, it will hold its head high and its eye veins will turn red. To remedy this, feed it dpa' bo ser po (勇士黄花) mixed with chang (酒). If poisoned by dog droppings, the horse will lie down and stand up intermittently, shake its head, dig at the ground with its legs, and strike the ground with its head. To remedy this, drill three holes at the root of the enlarged canine tooth. Cut the hidden vein and feed it the juice of parsley mixed with rock salt and butter. If poisoned by grass, the horse will lie down and stand up intermittently, roll around frequently, and be unable to urinate or defecate. To remedy this, mix rock salt with butter and administer it. Recite this mantra over a mixture of salt, butter, and zan (糌粑), and then administer it. Alternatively, oṃ mari khaṃ svāhā. (藏文：ཨོཾ་མ་རི་ཁཾ་སྭཱ་ཧཱ།，梵文天城体：，梵文罗马拟音：oṃ mari khaṃ svāhā，汉语字面意思：Om, Mari, Kham, Svaha.) Recite this mantra twenty-one times over zan (糌粑) and administer it, which will be excellent for both protection and healing. If poisoned by re lcag pa (马鞭), the intestines will become distended and foam will come out of the mouth and nose. To remedy this, administer a mixture of yogurt, beer dregs, and salt. If poisoned by ra dug (山羊毒), it will swell up, grind its teeth, and hiccup. Cut the nasal vein and the hidden vein, and feed it a mixture of earth salt, pig's blood, and arura (诃子), which will be beneficial. If cursed by tham dug (诅咒毒), mix the silk of a mamo (魔女) with the brain of a deer and administer it. Tie a colored thread in each of the four directions on the crown of the head. If poisoned by white thang phrom (白花龙胆), administering sour substances will be beneficial. In general, for all types of poisoning, dissolve a large piece of pure byang bul (纯碱) in warm water and administer it. Specifically, for grass poisoning, administer a decoction of brag zhun (石沥青), brag skya ha bo (石灰华), or thang phrom (龙胆), whichever is available. Do good deeds. In particular, make pills from the liquid of horse dung, the dust from the horse owner's left boot, and the dirt from the left elbow. Mix with urine and feed. Spread the saddle and clean by wiping with the horse owner's boot. Bloodletting therapy. A mantra beneficial for all types of poison: 'Ha Seng Hu Seng Dug Seng. Black poison, Svaha!' Recite this mantra and feed water. If swelling occurs due to poison, with a large abdomen and swollen eyes, and twitching of the legs and feet, feed a mixture of fennel juice, turmeric, Terminalia chebula, and rock salt. For demons and sins, feed white thread and sugarcane juice. If soil is eaten in autumn and cannot be digested, give clarified butter with rock salt added. These are all treatments for poison. If the throat is hoarse, feed bear bile. The juice of Kantakari is also helpful. For lung disease and heart problems, give fox bile. Or feed single blood. Back medicine: Mix barley flour, rock salt, and old pipe ash, and make pills. Dry and burn in the fire, mix the ashes with white oil and apply. Recite the mantra 'Om Dho Dho Du Du Maraya' and blow, which is very beneficial for treating back pain. For throbbing back pain, mix silver mica, marmot bile, and any available wound medicine with butter and apply. Stone medicine: Mix marmot oil, Chinese lacquer resin, conch powder, old fat, and butter and apply. Afterwards, apply copper burning ash. Alternatively, burn white gladiolus, rue, and nutmeg into ash, mix with lard and butter and apply. Boil as much sheep or goat liver and dog meat as possible in water, add a handful of Chinese lacquer resin and conch powder. Boil again and feed each horse about five times, which will be effective. The mantra is: 'Om Se Bramya Bramze Soha. Se Bramya Bramze Soha.' Recite this mantra. Horse protection: Make three vajra knots on a red silk cloth. Recite the mantra 'Naga Garuda's pure head, red Soha!' a thousand times on each knot. Consecrate with a heart mantra.
