The Peaceful and Increasing Homa Ritual Called 'Ocean of Accomplishments,' TB1649. General Section. Homa. The Peaceful and Increasing Homa Ritual Called 'Ocean of Accomplishments.' The Peaceful and Increasing Homa Ritual Called 'Ocean of Accomplishments.' Homage to the Guru and Glorious Vajrasattva! Whose compassion, the fire of great bliss and a hundred lights, burns all the firewood of cyclic existence, and breathes life into the place of all accomplishments, I bow to the all-pervading, glorious Vajrasattva! With the great feast of outer, inner, and secret homa offerings, which accomplishes all kinds of attainments from the offering, without difficulty, a quick and easy gift, freely given to the guests who desire the supreme. Here, for the benefit of oneself and others, to undertake the supreme, quick, and easy essence, the root of all accomplishments, the homa ritual, there are three homas: outer, inner, and supreme. First, relying on substances and meditation. First, peaceful and increasing. The order of the peaceful homa, there are three parts: preliminary, main part, and subsequent actions. First, the preliminary: ground purification, construction of the fire pit, and arrangement of substances. First is the ground purification: In a place that has been examined and is agreeable, if it is connected to the mandala, then in the east or south, if not connected, then anywhere else. In advance, by a mantra practitioner who has compassion and patience, and has recited the mantra of the deity one hundred thousand times or more, beginning at a very auspicious time, such as the evening of the first day of the waxing moon in the middle winter month. In the place where the ritual is to be performed, perform the ground purification, grasping, staking, or the ritual of the earth-holding goddess. Even if that much is not accomplished, a yogi who possesses the yoga of the deity should give a offering to the field-protecting deity. Placing the right hand with the vajra on the ground, reciting 'Om Ah Hum' and 'Om Hana Hana Krodha Hum Phat,' or reciting the mantra of one's own deity one hundred and eight times, purifying with conventional purification, and contemplating that all phenomena are emptiness, purifying completely with ultimate purification. Second is the construction of the fire pit: Manifest the fire pit on that ground, on a white ground that is natural or artificial, construct a square base. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When making a fire puja altar, dig a circular pit that is half an elbow deep. On top of the altar, create an edge with water or mud that is four fingers wide and four fingers high, with the edge sloping inwards. The edge should be surrounded by a vajra chain, and the four corners of the outer edge should be decorated with half-moon vajras. In the center of the altar, place an eight-petaled lotus, and in the center of the lotus, place a five-pronged vajra that is eight fingers high, with the head of the vajra facing east. When digging, first dig a shallow pit in the center of the platform, and then dig the depth of the altar. Then, extend four fingers outwards from the water, connecting them to form a circle with an edge that is four fingers high and four fingers wide. Other steps are the same as before. Both the constructed and drawn fire puja altars should be seamlessly coated with white earth, five elixirs, and white incense. If this cannot be done, if you are drawing a fire puja altar, apply white earth to the platform and draw square lines. In the center, draw a circle with a radius of half an elbow, outside of which is four fingers of water and an edge. Within the three circles, draw eight-petaled lotuses and the signs of the altar, surround the edge with a vajra chain, and draw half-moon vajras on the four corners. In any case, apply white earth to the outer half-elbow area. Scatter white flowers on the ground three times. In the altar, the firewood for the fire puja should be free of living beings and slightly shorter than the size of the altar. Alternatively, cut the temple's cow dung to the size of the altar hole, pile it up, and make it function as a fire pit. Third, on your left side, place three containers made of conch shells or fish skins, etc., and fumigate them with incense. Place common offerings such as incense, flowers, sesame seeds, kusha grass, rice, etc., as well as special milk, white flowers, and white perfume. In front of each container, place three food containers on a platform such as a mandza. Also place a container of amrita water (made by reciting Om Ah Hum), along with a kusha grass whisk. On the right side, place pairs of green kusha grass that are undamaged and not too long. The firewood for the fire puja can be milky trees such as palasha trees or udumbara trees, or the top parts of materials such as cotton collected from the four directions. Choose fresh, straight firewood that is one finger wide, apply incense, and dip the tips in honey and butter, in appropriate quantities. Also prepare black sesame seeds, yogurt, undamaged rice, uncooked barley, soybeans, mung beans, wheat, durva grass, and kusha grass coated with oil, divided into worldly and transcendental categories. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
