Da Bao Fu Zang TD1638 'A Ritual for Offering to the Sacred Relics of the Supreme Guides—A Jewel Cloud Gathering Two Accumulations'. Written by Trinely General Jamgön (title of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo). Offering to the Sacred Relics. Namo Gurave (藏文:ན་མོ་གུ་རུ་བེ།,梵文天城体:नमो गुरुवे,梵文罗马拟音:namo gurave,字面意思:顶礼上师)! Relying on that one, the qualities of all the Buddhas and all the victors Are easily perfected. I pay homage at the feet of the glorious Lama, And will briefly describe the activities that please him. As it is said: 'A thousand ordinary people are not equal to one Brahmin. A thousand pure Brahmins are not equal to one Chakravartin (cakravartin,转轮王). A thousand Chakravartins are not equal to one who has attained wisdom. A thousand who have attained wisdom are not equal to one Arhat (arhat,阿罗汉). A thousand Arhats are not equal to one Lama.' If truly present, then the Lama is supreme. With what, with what offerings, can we please him? Whether deceased or residing elsewhere, It is no different from being truly present, Contemplate with a respectful mind, Preceded by the maṇḍala (maṇḍala,坛城), Do your best to take all wealth and movable and immovable things, Enjoy them in your mind and then offer them. It is said that among virtuous actions, there is no greater benefit than making offerings for the deceased for the Lama, the virtuous friend. If we briefly summarize the benefits of the common vehicle, there are six: In general, it becomes an antidote to all sins and obscurations; in particular, it exhausts all the disrespect accumulated from relying on the virtuous friend; it quickly perfects the accumulations; it becomes an object of taming in all lifetimes; in particular, one will meet him in the future of this life; and one will quickly be liberated from samsara. In the new and old tantras, offering to all the Buddhas is not as meritorious as anointing one pore of the Lama's hair with a drop of sesame oil, etc., and inconceivable benefits are proclaimed. The methods of offering as described above are three: the ritual of the Kadam (bka' gdams) lamas of the Sutra tradition; the offering of the mandala of the Mantra tradition, the practice of self-entry empowerment; and the usual Lama offering practice, supplemented with timely instructions. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Firstly, preceded by the mind of enlightenment and blessings, clearly visualize the spiritual friend (དགེ་བའི་བཤེས་གཉེན་) through the six ways of remembering his form, qualities, conduct, activities, blessings, and kindness, and prostrate to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. Offer the seven-branch offering: gaze upon the spiritual friend's form, praise him, offer the mandala and various offerings (if possible), abide in samadhi, offer one's body, and make offerings of practice and generate the mind of enlightenment. Perform the remaining branches such as confession as the basis for accumulating merit and purifying obscurations, and take the vow to quickly attain Buddhahood. Pray and request the spiritual friend's blessings, generate aspirations, and again briefly offer the seven-branch offering. Confess misdeeds, integrate the merit into oneself, and meditate on emptiness. Recite aspirations such as the *Samantabhadra's Prayer*, and recite the *Vajrasattva Hundred Syllable Mantra* multiple times. Secondly, do as explained elsewhere. Thirdly, if related to mandala practice and offering, enter the actual operation stage here. If not related, one can perform the self-generation of any of the Three Roots with recitation, or visualize the deity in an instant. Prepare the bathing items and perform the bathing vase practice as usual. In front of the image, arrange and display all the outer, inner, and secret offerings as much as possible. The framework of the ritual is that the guru is the embodiment of Vajrasattva (རྡོར་སེམས་), the lord of the hundred families, so it will become very good. In addition, combining the Guru's Heart Practice (གུ་རུའི་ཐུགས་སྒྲུབ་) and Guru Yoga also makes no difference. Here, taking the ripening method of Vajrasattva and the Union of All Jewels (དཀོན་མཆོག་སྤྱི་འདུས་) as examples, because they are easy to practice. It is divided into three parts: preliminary, main practice, and concluding practice. First, the preliminary has seven parts, first is refuge and generating the mind, reciting: 'Spiritual friend glorious Vajrasattva (བླ་མ་དཔལ་ལྡན་རྡོ་རྗེ་སེམས)' etc., or 'Om Ah Hum (ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ), the sacred refuge' etc., and 'All dharmas are the nature of the three bodies (ཆོས་རྣམས་ཐམས་ཅད་སྐུ་གསུམ་རང་བཞིན་ལ)' etc. three times. Second is blessing the offerings, if it is Vajrasattva, then recite: 'Om Maha Krodhi Ishvara Sarva Drabyam Sam Shodhaya Hum Phet' to purify, purify with ' स्वाभाव ' (svabhava), and bless the ritual. If it is the Union of All Jewels, then recite ' རྃ་ཡྃ་ཁྃ ', and recite 'the three places of oneself' etc. Third is generating and inviting the deity, reciting 'Om स्वाभाव ' etc. From emptiness, arise the glorious spiritual friend, who has passed away peacefully, named 'ཆྒཻ', whose form is clear and complete. Make the iron hook mudra, recite 'Om Vajra Samaja (ཨོཾ་བཛྲ་ས་མཱ་ཛཿ)', may the glorious spiritual friend consider. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
