The body (Tibetan: སྐུ), outwardly clear like a rainbow in the sky, inwardly empty like a hollow reed. In your own heart, visualize a red lotus, with eight petals slightly open, and on the stamen, the Pure Land of Sukhavati (Tibetan: བདེ་བ་ཅན་གྱི་ཞིང་), with the main deity Amitabha (Tibetan: འོད་དཔག་མེད་པ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: अमिताभ, Sanskrit Romanization: Amitābha, Chinese literal meaning: Immeasurable Light) and the three attendant deities, appearing vividly as if seen with your own eyes. In your own throat, visualize a red lotus, with a white 'Hrīḥ' (Tibetan: ཧྲཱིཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः, Sanskrit Romanization: Hrīḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Great Compassion) at the center of the four petals. To the east is a white 'Oṃ' (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओ, Sanskrit Romanization: Oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Perfection), to the south is a yellow 'Āḥ' (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आ, Sanskrit Romanization: Āḥ, Chinese literal meaning: Generation), to the west is a red 'Svāhā' (Tibetan: སྭཱ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: स्वा, Sanskrit Romanization: Svāhā, Chinese literal meaning: Accomplishment), and to the north is a green 'Hā' (Tibetan: ཧཱ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: हा, Sanskrit Romanization: Hā, Chinese literal meaning: Amazement). Visualize these letters standing upright. During all the breaks between sessions during the day, constantly remind yourself that this is a dream. Focusing on the deity in your heart, recite 'Oṃ Āḥ Hrīḥ Svāhā' (Tibetan: ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧྲཱིཿསྭཱ་ཧཱ།) as much as possible. Without separating from the practice of emptiness, clearly visualize the deity, which is the practice of the non-dual yoga of the Completion Stage. By visualizing in this way and falling asleep, you will control your dreams. When you realize you are dreaming, fly and go to visit the Pure Lands such as Sukhavati, which is the practice of controlling dreams in the Completion Stage. When falling asleep, visualize the light of the body of Amitabha (Tibetan: འོད་དཔག་མེད་པ་) in your heart illuminating your entire body, as bright as the rising sun. By falling asleep in this way, you will grasp the luminosity of your mind during sleep. Also, by visualizing in this way at the time of death, you will grasp the essential point of practice. During the breaks between sessions, perform the dedication and extensive aspiration prayers according to the ritual. Practice in this way for four or six sessions, completing all the visualizations in each session, or if it is difficult to do so, divide two or three visualizations for each session. In the evening, at the end of the session, recite the protector ritual. By reciting its mantra and visualizing slightly, one session is equivalent to completing the visualizations of six sessions. In the evening or during the breaks between sessions, at any time you like, perform all the other practices that must not be interrupted. The number of recitations is said to be ten fasting days in the scriptures. However, you should also strive to practice diligently for seven days, twenty-one days, monthly retreats, and annual retreats, so that in this life you will have longevity and be free from illness, and your realization will increase, and in the next life you will not regress from the Pure Land. Therefore, there is no more excellent practice than this. You will often feel joyful in body and mind, your awareness will be clear, and your life will be long like a lamp, and the flame of the lamp will grow stronger and stronger. There will appear lamps, offering water, tormas (Tibetan: གཏོར་མ་), and ritual instruments, you will hear the sound of music, rainbows will appear, and you will smell fragrances. In dreams, you will often see the Pure Land of Sukhavati, see Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, or receive prophecies. You yourself will be in the stamen of a large lotus flower, going to the lotus world, and so on, pure visions will appear. Recite the mantra continuously like a stream of water. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

During the practice, visualize the mandala, thangka, alms bowl, vase, and torma vessels as the indivisible realm of Great Bliss. Visualize the statue, the water in the vase, the longevity pills, the longevity wheat, and the tip of the torma, all within the center of the vajra. Everything is indivisible, being Amitabha Immeasurable Light). In the end, visualize the main deity and retinue complete and distinct. If you wish to elaborate, after the empowerment practice, take the extensive self-initiation yourself. At that time, visualize the front generation deity as inseparable from the lama, and as the lama speaks the meaning of the empowerment, visualize receiving the empowerment yourself. If you wish to condense, place the empowerment substances on your head and visualize them dissolving into yourself. Recite either the extensive or medium version of the root mantra, and at the end, recite: Bathe and drink the vase water, and place a little of the torma, longevity pills, and longevity wheat on your tongue. Visualize all the front generation dissolving into yourself, and then dissolve the field protectors into their supports or let them return to their places. Transform yourself into light, dissolving into the Hrīḥ (藏文,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:Hrīḥ,汉语字面意思:Seed syllable of Amitabha) at your heart, and then let the Hrīḥ also become invisible, remaining in the state of emptiness. After reciting any auspicious prayer, release the restrictions. Thus, this concludes the written record of the Great Bliss Pure Land practice, by the monk Pema Jinpa At the urging of a long time, on the first day of the New Year of the Garuda King (མཁའ་ལྡིང་རྒྱལ་པོའི་ལོ་), as Rāga Asya (རཱ་ག་ཨ་སྱས་) spoke, it was written down by the one who urged it. If there are any mistakes, I confess to the protectors. May this virtue flourish and greatly increase, so that all beings are miraculously born in the Great Bliss Pure Land, and may the prison of the six realms of samsara be emptied! Maṅgalaṃ! Virtue! Virtue! Virtue! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
