The Great Treasure of the Supreme Dharma, TD776: 'The Sadhana and Instructions on the Bhagavan Amitayus and Jnana, Opening the Door to the Supreme Path of the Three Kayas'. A Guide to Purifying the Field and Prolonging Life: A Path Text. Namo Guru Buddha Bodhisattva! 'The Sadhana and Instructions on the Bhagavan Amitayus and Jnana, Opening the Door to the Supreme Path of the Three Kayas'. Homage to the Buddha Amitabha! Lord of all Buddhas, Infinite Light, Life and Wisdom, Immeasurable, Unchanging Light, Primordial Protector, To you, I constantly bow my head in reverence. This is the guiding text for the Sadhana, A step-by-step path for the fortunate, Named 'Opening the Supreme Door', Herein, the parts will be explained. For the fortunate individual endowed with the Dharma, training the mind in Bodhicitta, gradually maturing the continuum, this is the teaching that contains three aspects: externally, the approach to the field of Great Bliss; internally, accomplishment through generation, recitation, and completion; secretly, engaging in activities through Vajra Yoga. Firstly, after bathing and maintaining cleanliness, in a secluded place, sit facing west on a comfortable cushion. At the beginning of each session, take refuge and generate Bodhicitta. Visualize the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas like stars scattered across the sky, and above you, on a lotus throne, visualize the root guru residing. With the aspiration to include all sentient beings pervading space in your heart, recite the following verses of refuge and Bodhicitta: 'The Buddhas, the Dharma, and the Sangha, the supreme ones, Until enlightenment, I take refuge. Through the merit of my generosity and other virtues, May I quickly attain Buddhahood for the benefit of all beings.' This is a verse from the scattered practices of the Lotus Path. As you recite the words of refuge and Bodhicitta, visualize enemies, friends, neutral beings, and the four elements, even down to the smallest particles, resounding with a booming sound, and recite as much as possible. At the end of the session, visualize all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas dissolving into the root guru, and the root guru residing above your crown in the form of Vajrasattva. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

From the body of Padmasambhava, a stream of nectar flows down. Visualize that all the sins, obscurations, flesh, blood, and bones of your three doors are purified, and your own body is like a spotless crystal ball. Then recite the Hundred Syllable Mantra as much as possible. Finally, offer praise and confession, visualizing that the Lama Vajrasattva dissolves into you from the Brahma aperture, and remain in a state of non-duality and non-conceptualization for a moment. Afterwards, dedicate the merit. Then, enter the actual practice of purifying the realm. In the west direction in front of you, slightly above the human realm of this world, visualize the pure land of Buddha, Sukhavati (极乐世界, the Land of Bliss), with its immeasurable expanse and round shape, like a mandala placed in space. Remember the greatness and qualities of that realm as described in the Infinite Light Sutra, and with devotion, clearly visualize the pure land. In the center of the pure land, on a magnificent jeweled throne, sits the Bhagavan Amitabha (无量光佛, Buddha of Infinite Light), the perfect and complete Buddha, adorned with the three robes of the supreme Nirmanakaya (化身, emanation body), with his hands in the meditation mudra, holding a lapis lazuli begging bowl filled with nectar. He is complete with all the marks and signs, and the crown of his head is impossible to look upon, radiating endless rays of light. His back is facing the Bodhi tree. Meditate that he is surrounded by immeasurable Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Shravakas. Visualize that in this world, I exist in various forms, prostrating to the protector Amitabha with the five limbs touching the ground. Visualize your own body multiplied into as many particles as there are, and that all sentient beings of the six realms are prostrating. Recite: 'Namo Manjushriye Svaha (那摩曼殊师利耶 梭哈, Homage to Manjushri, may it be well)' 'Namo Uttama Shriye Svaha (那摩乌త్త玛师利耶 梭哈, Homage to the Supreme Glory, may it be well)' 'Namah Sushriye Svaha (那摩苏师利耶 梭哈, Homage to the Excellent Glory, may it be well)'. Offer a hundred or a thousand prostrations, dividing them into sessions. This is the first short session. Again, visualize Amitabha surrounded by the Thirty-Five Buddhas. Visualize that in front of him, you and all other sentient beings confess all the sins and obscurations accumulated since beginningless time, and especially the sins accumulated in this life. Remember all the evil deeds you have done, and with intense regret, confess and repent from your mouth, and vow not to repeat them in the future. Recite the Sutra of the Three Heaps, also known as the Bodhisattva Confession of Downfalls, as much as possible, and offer prostrations. This is the second short session. Then, visualize your own body as being like a Bodhisattva Chakravartin (转轮圣王, Wheel-Turning King), and recite the Seven Branch Prayer from the Samantabhadra's Prayer of Good Conduct as many times as possible with clear visualization. This is the third short session. Then, perform the practice of offering the mandala, visualizing yourself as Arya Jambhala (财神藏巴拉, Noble Jambhala, God of Wealth), transforming the outer world into the wealth of gods and humans. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
