To practice the order of activities in this mandala, one must have received empowerment and abide by the vows, divided into three parts: preliminaries, main practice, and concluding sequence. The first is the preparation: In a secluded place, set up a painted mandala according to the scriptures, or arrange a red torma on a mandala plate, with a support torma on top. In front, arrange offering tormas and medicine rakta (blood offerings), and wrathful implements. For simple recitation or tsok offerings, it is permissible even if the mandala and support torma are not complete. There are eight preliminaries to the activities, the first of which is: reciting the Seven-Line Prayer and the Guru Lineage Prayer. The second is taking refuge: Visualize that in the blazing fire of your heart, the mandala of the wrathful guru, the Three Roots, and all the Buddhas pervades the sky. Recite: Namo! Guru, the embodiment of all Sugatas! The essence of the Three Jewels! Myself and all sentient beings of the six realms! Until enlightenment, take refuge! Namo! Root guru of the lineage! Yidam deity, source of accomplishments! Kindly bestow blessings, Dakinis! Take refuge in the Three Roots! Recite three times. The third is generating Bodhicitta (the mind of enlightenment): Recite: Namo! For the sake of all sentient beings! Having accomplished the guru Buddha! By whatever means they are tamed! If you do not leave and still remain here, the wrathful Skull Garland One will क्रोध (Tibetan, 梵文：krodha，krodha，anger) destroy your body, speech, and mind, scattering them like dust.
