Great Treasure of the Termas TD147: 'A Clear Mirror of Wisdom: Revealing the Unelaborated Approach Practice of the Profound Essence of the Three Cycles of the Lama Tennyi' Lama Tennyi. Approach Method. Homage to the Guru. The primordial protector, Padmakara, ever holding, The gracious master who dances the illusory Vajra dance, Having placed you with a hundredfold faith upon the lotus of my heart, Here, I shall briefly explain the method of the profound essence, unelaborated approach. Moreover, Gyalsé Lhajé (meaning: Prince of the King, Lord of the Gods) himself, the second of thirteen incarnations of a solitary treasure revealer, the near-treasure of Gya Lotsawa Dorje Zangpo, was bestowed upon the venerable Lama Rinpoche. The essence of a hundred thousand myriads of Lama practices, the heart essence of the Three Cycles of the Lama Tennyi, the practice of the profound essence 'Seeing and Self-Liberating' scripture, generally, the generation stage is the Dharma Mudra, Tummo is the Samaya Mudra, others are the Body Karma Mudra, ultimately the Great Wisdom Mudra, four in total. Each of these is divided into four stages of yoga. The first establishes the basis of practice, the second combines the conditions of the path, the third and fourth generate the wisdom of example and meaning, and proceed in a sequence that combines with the supreme fruit. Here, the first stage of the Dharma Mudra generation stage is practiced, which is taught as four yogas: cause, condition, method, and ultimate completion. Depending on the capacity of the individual, the practitioner who ripens the mindstream and upholds the samayas properly must first enter the four branches of approach and accomplishment of the method yoga. First, by relying on the unelaborated body mandala, one gains stability in samadhi, which is the approach. Then, the entire mandala of the support and the supported is indivisibly generated as oneself and in front, which is the near approach. With elaborate arrangements, the self and the front are visualized separately, which is the accomplishment. After signs of accomplishment appear, one takes the actual accomplishment for oneself and engages in empowerment for others, etc., which is the great accomplishment. It is said that one must practice these in sequence to accomplish the supreme reality. Therefore, the first and most important thing is the approach based on the unelaborated body mandala, so one must practice this. Begin on an auspicious day such as the tenth day of the waxing moon, in a secluded place of blessing. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Clean the practice room and sprinkle it with scented water. If possible, place a decorated Lama Torma on a stand in front of the sacred objects such as statues, with medicinal offerings (藏文:སྨན་རཀ,梵文天城体:अमृत रक्त,梵文罗马拟音:amrita rakta,汉语字面意思:nectar blood) on both sides. Arrange offerings in a row in front. Prepare the white Torma (藏文:དཀར་བགེགས,梵文天城体:सिता विघ्न,梵文罗马拟音:sita vighna,汉语字面意思:white obstacle) and the necessary items for the Tsog offering. Understand the general guidelines for what to avoid and what to do during retreat. Although strictness is not absolutely necessary, it is good to strictly limit distractions to maintain stable Samadhi. Starting from the morning session, sit comfortably and begin by reciting the Seven-Line Prayer and the lineage prayers such as the Lama Ku-sum (Three Kayas of the Guru). Offer the white Torma to support the positive forces and entrust them with the task of helping to complete the practice. According to the abbreviated ritual, take refuge and generate Bodhicitta three times, ensuring it blends with your mind. Instantly visualize yourself as the Karma Heruka and offer Torma to the obstacles. The white Torma (藏文:དཀར་བགེགས,梵文天城体:सिता विघ्न,梵文罗马拟音:sita vighna,汉语字面意思:white obstacle) is only needed for the first morning session, not afterwards. With the pride of the self-arisen Heruka, dispel the obstacles and visualize a stable protective wheel of five weapons, flames, and wrathful deities. Invoke the great blessing of wisdom, visualizing yourself, the place, the deity, and the mantra as manifestations of wisdom, and bless the offerings as a great cloud of wish-fulfilling jewels. Generate the Samaya Mandala and bless the three places. Invoke the wheel of wisdom and dissolve it into non-duality. Invoke the five families of empowerment deities, bestow empowerment, and seal it. Visualize countless goddesses emanating from yourself, paying homage and offering the outer four offerings, the Samantabhadra cloud offerings, the inner sensual offerings, and mudra dances. Contemplate offering the bliss of the secret consort and the superior Samadhi, especially offering the wonderful medicinal offerings, blood offerings, and Torma, praising with Vajra songs, and then gather the offering deities back into yourself. With the intention of reciting the mantra, focus on the twelve-syllable root essence and complete one session of recitation. At the end of the session, perform the completion rituals and offer praise. Remember purity and maintain pride. Offer the Dharma protector Torma, either elaborately or briefly as you can. Perform the Tsog offering and distribute the remaining offerings. Since there is no need to receive accomplishments during the retreat, confess transgressions, offer to the Tsog guests, and pray for their continued presence. Finally, dissolve the visualized deity into light and rise again in the form of union. Conclude with dedication, aspiration, and auspicious prayers. On the following day, start with the food offering and practice as before. At the end of the session, after remembering purity, dissolve into light, rise, and perform the dedication, aspiration, and auspicious prayers. The method for all four sessions is the same. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
