Great Treasure of the Dharma TD66 Essence of the Three Roots Combined Practice Activity Heart Jewel Essence of the Three Roots Combined Practice Activity Heart Jewel Essence of the Three Roots Combined Practice Activity Heart Jewel Blessings fall like rain, accomplishments like treasures, Granting the best of desires, to the Three Roots deities, With reverence, I prostrate and offer the combined practice, The activity heart jewel, I now bestow. This has four parts: Preparation, Main Practice, Accumulation and Purification during breaks, and Subsequent Activities. First, the Preparation: In a secluded and agreeable place, if possible, arrange representations of the Three Roots, either painted or sculpted, and in front of them, set out extensive offerings such as medicine, torma, rakta, sensory offerings, and gathering feast implements. Even if that much is not possible, in a kapala or precious vessel, place pure and excellent samples of food and drink, sensory offerings, and other appropriate offerings, arranged cleanly and beautifully. In front of oneself, one should also have a vajra bell, vajra, skull drum, inner offering, etc. Sit comfortably on a cushion, straighten the body, expel the nine stale winds, and from various angles, bring to mind renunciation, bodhicitta, and devotion. Then, proceed to the actual ritual. 'Refuge, Bodhicitta, Obstacle Removal, Protection Circle Visualization, and Blessing the Offerings.' The first of these five is: From one's heart, rays of light emanate, illuminating the ten directions and four times, inviting all the deities of the Three Roots to the sky in front, with 'Vajra Samājaḥ' (藏文:བཛྲ་ས་མཱ་ཛཿ,梵文天城体:वज्रसमाजः,梵文罗马拟音:vajra samājaḥ,Vajra Assembly), awakening the refuge field as vast as the sky. Before them: Namo! From now until enlightenment, I and all beings take refuge in the Three Roots deities. The second is: 'For the sake of attaining the perfect Buddhahood for the benefit of others, I generate the mind to meditate on the profound yoga.' Repeat this three times, and at the end, with 'Jaḥ Hūṃ Baṃ Hoḥ' (藏文:ཛཿཧཱུྃ་བྃ་ཧོཿ,four seed syllables, meanings to be researched), visualize the refuge field dissolving into oneself. The third is: Visualize oneself instantly transforming into the form of a wrathful Guru Rinpoche. If an obstacle-removing torma is actually set out, purify it with 'Raṃ Yaṃ Khaṃ' (藏文:རྃ་ཡྃ་ཁྃ་,three seed syllables, meanings to be researched), bless it with 'Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ Hoḥ' (藏文:ཨོཾ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་ཧོཿ,梵文天城体:ओम् आः हुं होः,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ āḥ hūṃ hoḥ,Om Ah Hum Ho), invite the guests with 'Oṃ Sarva Bhūta Ākarṣaya Jaḥ' (藏文:ཨོཾ་སརྦ་བྷཱུ་ཏ་ཨཱ་ཀརྵ་ཡ་ཛཿ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ sarva bhūta ākarṣaya jaḥ,Om, सर्व, भूत, आकर्षय, जः, सर्वभूत आकर्षण), and offer it with 'Oṃ Sarva Vighnān Baliṃta Khāhi' (藏文:ཨོཾ་སརྦ་བིགྷྣཱན་བ་ལིཾ་ཏ་ཁཱ་ཧིས་,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ sarva vighnān baliṃta khāhi,Om, सर्वविघ्नान्, बलिन्त, खा हि, सर्वविघ्न बलिन्त खाद). Hūṃ! The nature of reality is primordially unborn, All the suddenly appearing deluded obstacles and demons, By the command of the glorious wisdom awareness, Are liberated into the dharmakaya realm of pure equality. Expel them by reciting wrathful mantras such as 'Sumbha'. The fourth is: Hūṃ! The vajra tent unshakeable by conceptual signs, The pure other-powered deity, mantra, and hand gestures, Blessed by the perfect wisdom nectar, The dualistic appearing demonic forces, --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
