Collected Teachings of Dolonatha JT519 The Lamp of Four Letters. The Lamp of Four Letters. The Stages of Relying on Four Yogas. The Lamp of Four Letters. (Tibetan, Devanagari, IAST, Literal Meaning) Om, may there be well-being! Wisdom. (Om Svasti Prajnabhyah) The secret of all Buddhas, gone to the far shore of the three wisdoms, the embodiment of all aspects of omniscience, I bow to the feet of Jamyang Lama. Even a fraction of the rays of light from his speech, merely arising in the hearts of those to be tamed, can instantly dispel the darkness of obscurations, how wonderful it is to receive such a one. Here, the nectar of the face of the noble Avalokiteshvara, the oral instruction at the feet of the glorious Lord of Yoga, Dwokanti, the essence of the heart of the mind's seal, the instruction of Khadgapada, the oral transmission between Jamaribajra, and then the four-letter instruction passed down from Omkaravajra, Jñanamitra, Shantigupta, Buddhanathagupta, etc., has become only a portion of what I have heard in this direction. Although it is not clear which tantra this is the completion stage of, it is mainly in accordance with the King of Tantras, the Guhyasamaja. To mention it briefly, in the four letters Hasata, the letter Ha gathers the coarse wind into the subtle wind, and gathers it into the indestructible bindu. The letter Sa ignites the tummo, stabilizing the wind in the central channel, manifesting the three wisdoms as the long cause of the exemplary clear light. The letter A gathers it into emptiness, mainly manifesting the actual cause of the exemplary clear light, non-conceptuality. The wind rises in the avadhuti. The letter Ta generates the mandala from the coemergent joy, and from the end of the joys of progression and regression, the arising and gathering of bindus, accomplishing accordance with the sambhogakaya, and training the four bindus. The path of these four letters also has two types: relying on a consort of the desire-realm lineage and relying on a conceptual yogi. The first relies on the bindu and the body of the consort, the second relies on mantra and mudra, the third relies on mantra and wisdom, and the fourth relies on mudra and yoga, with eight as the root number. 24-138 Among them, first, the stages of relying on the four yogas are: Thus, the meaning of meditating on the letter Ha is: From within emptiness and non-objectification, in an instant, transform into the Lord of the World, with three faces, red, blue, and white, and the first of six arms.

The two embrace. The rest, the two on the right hold a lotus and a sword, the two on the left hold jewels and a Dharma wheel. Having the vajra full lotus posture, adorned with jewels, and fluttering silk skirts. Adorned with auspicious signs, having a topknot. Various rays of light radiate from everywhere. United with the mother of self-light. Or, the two hands hold lotus stems and a bell, one face, similar to other special features. Its root, in the heart center of the Avadhuti, has a Dharma wheel, made of eight pulse petals and a mixture of semen and blood, a red lotus with eight petals in full bloom. Like being taken out of a very clear lake, having the color and shape of shimmering water droplets, inside covered with red and yellow stamens, there is a red Ah (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: āḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: Ah) radiating light. Then exhale the breath three times. The light of Ah (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: āḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: Ah) purifies the defilements of beings. Applied to enlightenment. Together with the Buddha and his retinue, invite the mind of enlightenment in the form of light rays. The upper and lower breaths are joined and held, and again enter through the pores of the hair. Dissolve into Ah (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: āḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: Ah). Visualize a bindu the size of a mustard seed, of various colors, radiating infinite light, arising from the melting. If uncomfortable, exhale slowly. Again, inhale moderately and hold. Thus, when the breath arises, light radiates and purifies. 24-139 When inhaling, gather again and dissolve into the bindu, strive as before. By becoming accustomed to this, even without conceptual thought, the clear appearance of deities, bindus, etc., will be stable, and the equal flow of breath will definitely occur. Then the meaning of the seed syllable: the meditation on the melting bindu of Ah (Tibetan: ཨཱཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: आः, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: āḥ, Literal Chinese meaning: Ah) is the same as before. In the navel, visualize a subtle dust-like bindu as small as a mustard seed, the touch is very hot, red and shimmering. Then exhale the breath. The breath joins in the navel. From the bindu of the tummo in the navel, flames of fire radiate upwards from within the central channel. When it touches the bindu in the heart center, it dissolves into the white parts. The bindu, the nature of Kunda, descends a continuous stream of white light. Dissolves into the tummo. Thus, in both the burning and dripping cases, five kinds of light also radiate from both bindus. The central channel, oneself, all containers and contents gradually pervade. Everything dissolves. Again, gradually gather. Dissolve into the two bindus. By becoming accustomed to this, the vision is like moonlight, the body feels comfortable, the mind feels clear and without conceptual thought.
