The practice is: The bodily posture should be any of the two, the beginning and the end, of the seven aspects of Vairocana, as previously explained. In practice, the former is mainly used. However, the posture should not be too high. First, exhale twelve times through the mouth, then leave it naturally. There are three ways to place the mind: outward, inward, and effortless. The first is to look at the sky without thinking anything. The second is to focus solely on pure awareness; here, it is easier to find the clue to meditation roughly than the first. The third is to relax the effort slightly and rest naturally. By resting in this way, various signs of the path, such as smoke, will appear, including definite and indefinite signs, or special and ordinary distinctions. Smoke and the like are called the five gross signs. As it is said, "Water, fire, earth, and wind, transform from one to another." From this sign, the moon, sun, lightning, sound, Rahu's bindu, indigo, etc., should be understood as subtle signs. If the last sign appears stable, it is appropriate to move to the second limb, contemplation. To enhance this and all subsequent practices, one should pray with devotion to the guru, contemplate compassion for sentient beings, contemplate the benefits of the path, and generate certainty in the reasons for emptiness, etc. In particular, even if one has not completely renounced fame, wealth, etc., in this life, if there is even a slight attachment, no matter how much effort one puts into meditation, one will only generate temporary, meager qualities, or seemingly only these qualities. Therefore, genuine meditation beyond these will not arise. Therefore, it is extremely important to train in indifference to body, possessions, and feelings. Secondly, contemplation: the bodily posture and breath control are the same as before. In mind, one should strive to focus one's attention solely on that appearance of signs. First, the effort to mix mind and the appearance of signs into one flavor, resting in mere self-awareness, is "vitarka" (thought). Then, analyzing in detail the appearance of signs that are inseparable from it is "vicara" (analysis). Because of knowing that mind and appearance are two but one, the mind feels joy, which is "joy." From this, body and mind become extremely pliant, which is "happiness." The senses merge into one, which is "one-pointedness." These arise in sequence. After one-pointedness is stable, enhance.

Regarding the location, there are three types of focus: pressing, external, and internal. The first is to engage in union more vigorously than before. Until then, when practicing, since it is not easy to clearly see land, stones, mountains, rocks, etc., signs easily appear, so one should practice in that way. It is said to look at a dark room or any clear blue sky. The second is to then meditate on a state that is neither shimmering nor dark, neither existent nor nonexistent. If that is stable, the second is to learn an indefinite way of looking. Meditate on various appearances. If that is stable, the third is generally inside the body, and especially the eight chakras, gradually stabilizing one and then striving for the next. That is, to meditate in a way that appearance, signs, and mind are all of one taste. For example, guide the appearance of a bindu on a pillar, and tighten and place it as if the mind is entering into it. Sleeping yoga is to concentrate single-pointedly on the same meditation as during the day, even when going to sleep, thereby making the sleeping yoga excellent. By repeatedly becoming accustomed to this, one also cultivates meditation in dreams. For this, one should especially have a strong desire to fall asleep no matter what, and to remember in dreams. Finally, in the central channel (dhu ti), when the clear appearance of all pure lands stably arises on a bindu the size of a hair tip, one is capable. Then there is life force. First, focus on the yellow mustard seed-sized bindu at the navel, and perform filling, hooking, stiffening, and dust-edge etc. Among these, hooking is to hold the upper breath at the navel, and leave the lower to its own accord. The other three are the tradition of Atisha, the same as described in the Six Dharmas of Niguma, and is a practice. These are all only focusing the mind on the bindu inside the central channel (dhu ti), and not performing the focus of breath absorption and emission. The main practice is divided into Vajra Chain and Vase Breathing. The first is to visualize the movement of breath from the bindu at the navel as having the form of five lights, and accompanied by the sound of three syllables. When exhaling, it is Āḥ (藏文:ཨཱཿ,梵文天城体:आः,梵文罗马拟音:āḥ,汉语字面意思:阿), when inhaling, it is Oṃ (藏文:ༀ,梵文天城体:ॐ,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:嗡), and when holding, it is Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽). Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:吽) appears last. The key points here are the Vajra Chain, the Mudra of Mind, and the very extensive and important aspects from both traditions of Guhyasamaja, as well as the condensed explanations of mind, etc.
